After the booing incident at the Liverpool game, and his subsequent drop to the bench, I thought Joey came back strong and played really well for the final 1/4 of the season.Originally posted by neetoneeto View PostThere's this myth of Barton the quality player, largely promoted by Barton himself (viz his comment, form is temporary, talent is permanent), but also perpetuated by his flock of tweet-following apologists. When are all these tweet-sheep baa-baas going to realise that they've been duped.
If he could play like that for a full season (and he has proved he can do it at Newcastle) I for one would keep him on.
No one is going to buy him and it would be expensive to lay him off. He can be a liability but he's also an asset and we can't afford to throw that talent away.

Oh ******** to it. I'm chiming in.
If Barton had used his ****ing head he would have gotten Tevez sent off, not the other way round.
Barton lost it because he realised he'd been mugged off big time. He got targeted as the weak link, and it worked for them didn't it?
I'd love to give Barton a second chance. But the guy is a bit of a liability. I'd be saying the exact same if it was Cisse tbh, cos it so easily could have been him that got targeted.

The question is, just how many second chances does one person deserveOriginally posted by Will M View PostOh ******** to it. I'm chiming in.

I think Barton's used up his nine lives. If it was as easy as firing him I'm certain he'd be gone, but to actually have to spend money to get him off the books is another thing. Bit of a nightmare for the manager and owner.Originally posted by Bluehoop View PostThe question is, just how many second chances does one person deserve

Precisely the point I was making - he had more second chances before he joined us than any other person I know of. Yet, when he came here he made a clown of himself with the tweeting, got sent off for being dumb enough to stick his head in a canary's face and generally failed to earn his wages. Whether we are talking about footballing issues or off field limitations, that far more than one chance - then the performance at the Ethiad involves about 3 serious events, each of which takes up another life.Originally posted by robloft View PostOne that's why its called a second chance and not a third or fourth chance !
Honestly, I was offended when it was suggested that I should be ashamed that I denounced the devil, but I am stunned that anyone is still prepared to validate the man's worth, as a Rangers player at all, let alone as captain
