    Tommy Smith over SWP

Does anybody else think had Tommy Smith being a regular starter this season he would've made more of a contribution to the team then Shaun Wright Phillips has done all season?

He would've by no means set the Premier league alight but what he would have given you would have been a consistent level of performance whereby he would have scored the odd goal and provided the odd assist which over the course of the season would've made a cumulative contribution far greater than Wright Phillips.

Without doubt. SWP hasnt scored a single goal. Smith has probably contributed more than SWP even with a fraction of the game time.

Im very against getting on a players back and think they should be given a fair crack of the whip before getting slated/judged, but SWP has had opportunity after opportunity and continually failed to deliver.

    Poor poor player IMO.
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

This should have happened months ago, as it aint happening for SWP.

Looks like everyone agrees. Still, having watched far too much of SWP this season, how could one not? P

Yes! Look's a great player every time he plays, and always gives it his all and actually has good impacts on our matches. Goal against wigan was amazing!

scored the winner against everton as well, done more in a couple of games than SWP over about 20

Smudger is one of my favourite players in the squad at the moment, he always gives his all, and knows where the goal is.
I thought SWP would come good at some point this season, but he's running out of games, give Smudger a go.

Smith is massively under rated. He's got a good footballing brain, and we know he's got a goal or two in him.

At the moment anyone would do better than clueless SWP. No passing, no balance and afraid to take on defenders.

I would rather see MH play himself than SWP. He is like a 12th player....for the opposition.
