Doing okay thus far, as did Beale and Mclaren once upon a time at this stage.
I get the feeling we could be a bit more direct and attack minded given the forwards we have. 6th after 9 games must mean he's done a lot right though.
I think this is the best team we've had since Warb's first season here so on that basis he really ought to be in top half of table as a bare minimum.Comment

I think our issue is sometimes that we just go to direct a bit to often and the teams are then setup for it. We need to work at rotating our off man more to create a gap and someone free in space that helps overwhelm them on the other side. I think that's what's lacking from when they play the high block on us and we just keep giving it away.
We work well at first because it feels like teams still expect us to be tippy tappy and then our quick/direct catches them off. They adjust to it and we are then frozen out for 20min.
We need to adjust better in games, slow it down and speed it up, draw them into more tippy tap and then hit them with direct and quick motions to the other side and push.Comment

What I really mean is "on the front foot". We're miles better now than we were under Cifuentes but I still reckon we're still a tad cautious when it comes to pouncing on an unexpected turnover of ball in our favour. I reckon in this division at least 30% of openings are presented to you by the opposition so we need more of a mindset to jump on these openings cos that's when the opposition are normally back-peddling or out of shape.
Nothing wrong with patiently building our own openings but that does give opposition time to funnel back into two banks of four (like Oxford did) and we tend to huff and puff with little success in that situation.

Like most on here I had never heard of him before he got linked with this job. From his profile thought he looked more like someone who would be looking mid to lower Premiership rather than lower Championship given what he had achieved in France.
So far so good. As has been said he has changed things around since Coventry and we look more solid and also carry more threat.Comment

Yes. "Safari Go Goody". I think with managers you really have to wait the whole season before making a definitive judgement but I'd have him 6 or 7 out of ten right now, which for a new manager is a good start I think.Comment
