I must admit I found it funny to see our hydroponic lights "parked" on the corner of Elerslie & Loftus Road after the game. They must put them on the Elerslie concourse on non-match days but had to put them onto the street when there's a game on. CN did mention in his Q&A there's a lack of storage space for them in the stadium......he wasn't joking was he!

I had a look at the Old Oak Regeneration, it's a mayor of London led project. Thus far it's only really revolved around the fancy new Old Oak Common interchange station which seems to have come along nicely.
But, this year is when plans for the wider generation start formulating culminating in finalised plans getting set in 2028. So we havent "missed the boat" and there's still time to get involved. Interesting the site spans THREE local authorities and ultimately it's The mayor of London's gig. Whether they'd be easier to work with than LBHF is an unknown but previously I had a sense that the club had a certain level of exasperation with LBHF when trying to get a new stadium going.

Fair enough. Main thing is the the overall project hasn't fizzled out. The fact remains that the seeds of a massive urban regeneration that is on "our patch" is starting to get going - I think it would be pisspoor if our owners weren't actively geting involved and forcefully lobbying and pitching stadium plans. Fact is, this could be the last opportunity to acquire a football stadium sized piece of land anywhere near W12 - we simply have to go for it.Originally posted by cross it Dave View PostDon't get your hopes us there son, as we all know Khan is an utter cu..nt.

Problems might arise if Chelsea are looking for a new site too. Their redevelopment of SB hasn't progressed and the 60k planning approval has expired. The new owners are looking at the redevelopment going on in Earls Court, which currently doesn't have plans for a football stadium. If its cheaper to pitch for OOC we might have a problem on our hands.
I wonder if our Board would try and buy SB in that scenario as 42k is more than enough. But would fans go to it even if its been rebadged all things Rangers?

Interesting!Originally posted by Sleeping Giants View PostI see today that Cargiant will close it's London site in a couple of weeks. Obviously sad news for all those concerned but it's a near 50 acre site relatively close to HQ. I wonder if the club are looking at it?
In CR's last Q&A he said he was on the H&F development committee- or something similarly named. I think American investment would flood in if we could secure a deal.
Great spot Giant.

They've valued the land at £100 MILLION. Seems ridicously expensive even for London.Originally posted by Sleeping Giants View PostI see today that Cargiant will close it's London site in a couple of weeks. I'm not educated in land values and certainly not London ones but that seems low end to me for 50 acres in that location but I suppose it depends on what uses it has been granted. A new stadium would only need what 8 acres or so? Still £16 Million though so not a trivial amount.Originally posted by Darkranger View Post

The covenant on the land means it can only be used for the benefit of the community. Its not prime real estate for that reason and the likes of Nick deMarco tried to the covenant removed, but failed. That goes back to the Paladini era.Originally posted by Undecided View PostIf the parties were willing, couldn't "we" sell on Loftus Road to defray some of the cost of that new land?

I have failed to find evidence of a legal community convenient on our ground, in fact, Google AI suggests there is nothing in place. But I found this..- Planning Policy Restrictions: In local planning documents, the London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham has discussed policies that would require the "re-provision of community facilities and open space" if the stadium site were ever redeveloped for residential use. The club has previously argued that such requirements should be proportionate to avoid frustrating future development.
I have heard that Swindon Town's land was gifted to the club and has restrictions on it. I thought ours was a similar arrangement....???????
