I sort of get Fer and Phillips relative to what I'd expect of you, but why would you expect anything of Hoilett?

Track back? I showed the stat that proves he does the defensive work, makes more tackles than any of our centre backs and intercepts once a game as well. And what makes you think he's been told to track back? He's probably been told to conserve his energy for attacking plays, make useful challenges high up the pitch and leave our defensive players to do the defending. Not everyone is Jamie Mackie in tracking back and we'd have no front line if they were. You in particular have complained primarily about two things, one being his invisibility in attack and one being his defensive work. I've gotten every single number available to me proving that wrong. I've been to every home game this season and last and I can tell you from my eyes that you're not correct on this front based on what I've seen (not that I'm doubting that you go to every game ofc mate). I even watch every game the next day on player after reading all the stats. I get that I won't prove to you that he can be a huge success with the right support, but I can prove to you that he does the things that you don't believe he does.

The sentence you've highlighted is pure fact. Is delusion noticing factual events? I don't think so mate.

Who's attempted more passes of the two? Answer is Fer with 30 per game to Chery's 15.6. But even if we ignore that, who's played more key passes per game? Fer with 1.5 to Chery's 0.7. Again lets ignore that, Chery has one assist more than Fer and he played with Austin in front of him for most of his games. Fer has played most of the time without a striker in front of him (Matt Phillips was usually the striker). When Fer finally got a striker to play off of and a winger who liked to get into the box, he got two assists with ease.
But lets go to your point about defending and tackling. Now, Fer does foul 1.6 times per game compared to Chery's 1, but that's out of context, because if you look deeper, You'll see Fer attempts 2.4 tackles a game to Chery's 1.6. And guess who's made the fewest successful tackles per 90 minutes of any player we have? Tjaronn Chery. Add on to that the fact that Fer draws more than double the amount of fouls that Chery does, while being significantly better in the air, successfully beating a player more times per game than Chery and also attempting more and being TWO years younger and still people wonder why I believe Fer is a better player. This is Fer not doing as well as he should and he's still killing Chery in every way.
As much as I hope Chery does succeed, I will not lose sleep if he goes.

If you read my post properly, you'll notice the statement "successfully beating a player more times per game than Chery". How do you think he does that? With a f ar king spatula?

As for the shooting, Chery has a 32% accuracy from 50 shots, Fer has a 33.3% accuracy from his shots this season. Anything else you'd like me to disprove.

As for you not mentioning defending, I put this statement back to you "when he's not attempting reckless lunges that could get him a red"
As it happens, he hasn't gotten a red this season for a challenge he's made, he's even only gotten booked twice and if its anything to go by, he's only made just over a foul per game. Reckless? No.

Out of our more attack minded midfielders he is the one we bought as a Championship side. Hoilett, Fer and Phillips (ok bought him when getting promoted last time but with Prem in mind) all looking likely to leave either now or in summer. We should persevere in my view. Saw enough at beginning of season to know a very good player in there, JFH just needs to find that player again.

If no improvement by end of season then agree with others that sadly hasn't worked out.

Just the opposite of how JFH wants his players to work. He wants then to act as 1.st defenders whatever position on the pitch.
