I think we all would've taken £12million with a year left on his contract as opposed to £4million with 6 months left.
Don't kid yourself Surrey Leicester were due another relegation battle and Charlie probably wouldn't have gone but none of us know. Better 4 million now than nowt in Summer. Sad day but we need to build without Charlie and will hopefully see a couple come in now!

our attacker, who seemed to make it known that he wanted a club in the south of england who were unlikely to be involved in a relegation battle, was never likely to want to go there.

i get that you have an axe to grind about more-or-less anything that the club does, but some realism would help.
My recollection. Greece currently have the worst squad they have had in a decade, and were never tipped to qualify out of that group.

'6th favourite for relegation' is a comfortable 15th placed finish. So not 'relegation threatened' at all.

Austin has said a lot of things that haven't come to fruition.

You're right though, I do have an axe to grind with more or less anything the club does...because more or less everything that the club does defies comprehension in it's stupidity and short-sightedeness.

Knew this was gonna happen at some point...

But I can't help getting that same sinking feeling I had when Sir Les left for Newcastle.

Good luck to him. Has been an incredible player for us, best striker we've had in my lifetime. Deserves PL football, showed what he can do last year and he conducted himself well during the summer when the rumours of his departure were flying about. Thanks for the service and best of luck. Bet he can't wait to get out of our circus.
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

Oh well, at least we got money for him, we all knew he was leaving sooner or later. This season is a write off, now it's about regrouping and finding some kind of replacement.

4 mill will be lucky to buy Washington from Peterborough for that.B

However it's 4 mill now or nothing in the summer so don't see what choice the club had tbf.

Let's just hope and pray we have someone lined up and quickly. Think the club knows the fans will expect a replacement of some sort and gut feeling is we will have someone lined up.
                No chance.

We bought him for £4m and sold him for £4m and got 2 and a half great years out of him. I think the club did well to do the business now. Sorry he's gone but it's the right move/club for him.

Losing Remy hurt me more than losing Austin. Austin is always injured, and he's not much good to us on the physio table. Good luck to him at his new club, hope he can get a run of games together and sneak into the Euro 2016 squad.
