My point is I don't think we are going anywhere in a hurry - up or down - so no point rushing in Jan to buy someone for the sake of it. If a promising player at the right place comes up, then great. But no point getting 7m for Philips and spending 4m of it on someone bang average for the sake of it when we do already have players who can more or less slot in.

Completely agree mate. I'm with you that we're mid table as well but I believe the board have their eye on the playoffs still.

Also, I think it's beneficial to get players in now to work with Jimmy for 6 months. It's like an extended pre season is how I look at it, this is all building for next season.

Obviously it's difficult to buy value in January but if it's available I don't think we'll mess around.

This is a deal I would go for!!
If we let Phillips go elsewhere we still have to find a replacement.
Cash plus Adomah would be a good deal.

Not sure if Phillips would go there though, ok they are top but could still end up in playoffs and not get promoted.
