I agree with you Kirill (break out the fireworks, it doesn't happen often!) but Tony seems to be a "keep the peace" kind of guy and appears to be trying to mend our relationship with the authorities. I'm sure we would win if we went to court but I guess Tony thinks it is more important to keep everybody happy and he is willing to pay for the privilege. Althought not £58m, obviously. This compromise (greatly reduced fine) was always the likeliest outcome. The FL are offside and they know it.'Only a Ranger!' cried Gandalf. 'My dear Frodo, that is just what the Rangers are: the last remnant in the South of the great people, the Men of West London.' - Lord of the Rings, Book II, Chapter I - Many Meetings.

I thought this paragraph was interesting - I hadn't heard the last bit before:Originally posted by Hove Ranger View PostQPR relief as Financial Fair Play fine set to be £8m....

The squad have undergone radical surgery after their relegation to the Championship, with a number of high-earning players removed from the payroll. The director of football, Les Ferdinand, has overseen new signings but has refused to pay wages of more than £20,000 a week.

Agree with your point about best and shittu, definitely not the players we should be targeting.Originally posted by upperloft View PostTotally agree with not spending like we used but it's obvious the squad needs strengthening and it looks like he won't be going down the road of playing a few more youngsters otherwise he wouldn't have signed Konchesky and Perch, also with the Rumours of Best and Shittu signing I think he could have done with some money to get a bit of quality, not talking big names or older prem players but maybe some talent from the lower divisions.Top Scorers 2018/2019

Seriously though, is this a new update and even more confirmation , cos we had a thread saying the same price a week or so ago and it was great news to hear, if its coming out in the press again it means more chance its true,

I'd heard similar, but that £20k is the absolute top that we'll pa (for an exceptional player). Unofficial wage cap is now £15k a week for virtually every new player.Originally posted by dsqpr View PostI thought this paragraph was interesting - I hadn't heard the last bit before:
