Fantastic news. Not thinking we will go out and spend millions but I bet the shackles are off and Les can go for some better players. Like this Jordi Amat rumour, that's much more like it.

Only £8m you lot are loops. So £8m is ok? Not having that. Still shows that the club has been run badly. £8m is a lot of money. I'm sure if we didn't have that fine over our head we could have signed a few more players of better quality.

I'm with you, but the point is it's much better than the 50-60mil we were afraid it might be.
On another issue, people say we can now spend on good players, but that's not the case. We still have to be careful or else be fined again because of this stupid rule. We are a small club and have to spend within our means. Rich owners mean #### all if our revenue isn't massive. We went down that spend spend spend route before, and look where it's got us. I'm astounded people still want us to spend, I can only hope they just don't understand that we CAN'T spend like we used to any more.

Totally agree with not spending like we used but it's obvious the squad needs strengthening and it looks like he won't be going down the road of playing a few more youngsters otherwise he wouldn't have signed Konchesky and Perch, also with the Rumours of Best and Shittu signing I think he could have done with some money to get a bit of quality, not talking big names or older prem players but maybe some talent from the lower divisions.

in the 1st place, but this sort of money can destroy clubs not help them
Agree punish clubs who over spend by taking money of them which is supposed to protect them you could not make it

Makes me laugh when fans of other clubs compare their FFP situation to ours. We broke the FFP rules in the 13/14 season when we won the play-offs. We couldn't offload a lot of the hugely overpaid players we had from the Prem season before like M'Bia and Granero and had to loan them out while still paying some of their wages. It was pretty much impossible to go from our Prem wage bill to be able to comply with the Championship FFP regulations in one summer.

Absolutely nothing like Blackburn and Forest who have spent years in the Championship now and still spent too much without having the Prem money to fall back on

What's the betting the final verdict won't come out until after the transfer window closes and we can't splash the cash we saved.

I don't think we will anyways. Although my hope is that the announcement is made asap. Clubs realise they can't hold us to ransom over player pricing and either leave austin, phillips and fer alone or match their value fully, giving us enough time to bring in adequate and extra replacements to all positions requiring them using a majority of the transfer values acquired from those 3 and using the money from sterling to pay the FFP fine.
