Huddersfield fans also tweeting that word around their stadium tonight is that the Smithies deal is over. Some saying Smithies himself was unsure and having second thoughts because of the birth of his son.

If we sign smithey, I'll be as excited as Susan Boyle sitting on my face. I know we want to be all sensible and all that bollo cks but we need to flex our financial muscle or stay as a box standard championship side.
