Difference was we're in the Championship now and can't spend that sort of money on back-up. No probs in the Prem, though I would've kept McCarthy and bombed Greeno.

If RG is to stay the season we still need back-up to him at the least, we gotta get a keeper in. Personally i'd be telling Green once a keep comes in that he's benched and try and force him to move.

By 'mistake' do you mean him having a relegation clause?

I mean signing a good young keeper and letting him rot on the bench.

If he was 1st choice here I have no doubts he would've stayed relegation buy-out or not.

If his salary had been cut I am not sure how you can be so sure.

Whoops... Didn't read your post properly. I suppose you could be correct, but not knowing the contract details I can't really say.

No, I have a feeling there was more to that transfer than we are aware. You are right, on the face of it, it didn't make sense but I think there is more to it although it just might have been the release clause being triggered.

Yeh I agree that could've been the reason he jumped ship. Just think if he was told he was 1st choice he wouldn't be looking to go anywhere..... Palace are obvs a decent Prem side but I doubt he was promised he was gonna be undisputed No.1 there with Hennessey and Speroni around.

Yes, I watched yesterdays game with interest almost hoping he would screw up but he had a decent game and Speroni might be hard pushed to get back in. Pardew is quite ruthless when it comes to that sort of situation.

                      Greeno must be gone then

                          Very confused by all this.

West London Sport saying we want Bentley. West Yorkshire Sport saying Smithies is in London undegoing a medical.

Really hope we aren't messing Smithies around, making bids and unsettling him, whilst one eye is on someone else.

I suppose it's possible we are after both, if the bloke who can't organise a defence or kick a ball to a teammate is off.

How do you know who was first or second choice?
