It all hinges on whether we keep the likes of fer and Philips, if we keep both, we might finish mid table.

      That's not what I asked.
Just say what you think - how likely?
      I currently think 15%.

Three of Harold's best signings were Phillips, Fer and Sandro. If they'd stayed in form and injury-free last season we'd likely still be a PL team. So as QprQpr says, it all depends on if they stay at the club.

If we keep the current squad we would be in the top 4 without a doubt. My worry is I no next to 0 about any of our new signings and I do not understand how everyone on here claims to no how good they are?

              i don't think it's so easy...

if you look at history, very few teams bounce straight back, regardless of whether they keep more-or-less the same squad or do a massive overhaul. of the 9 teams last relegated teams, only us and norwich have gone straight back up (both via the play offs) whilst teams with supposedly weaker squads (burnley, bournemouth etc) have got automatic spots. for that matter, wolves kept most of their squad together and got a second relegation on the bounce.

i think the club are looking at ending the cycle of promotion as-soon-as/regardless-of-the-cost and are now looking at setting the club on an even keel. this probably involves us going back to what we really are: a smallish club that overperforms and understands that it will have to buy cheap and sell expensive, rather than a smallish club that buys expensive and sells cheap after underperforming (how many players that were "not fit to wear our shirt" will be playng in the champions league next season?). if this means a prolonged stay in the championship, that's what it means.

Hopefully our scouts and maybe Les went to watch some too before a final decision was made

Tbf though Kev best price for relegation is 12s so it shows the bookies haven't really got a clue about us, whereas Derby are 40s. Don't expect it to happen myself but then I'm not massively confident in Derby doing so well either. Think it will be wide open as none of the teams relegated will be dominant

No chance will we go down. Expect us to be well in the mix. We are being massively under estimated atm. I still think when we lose Austin the club will surprise a few people with some very decent signings. I also think we will keep 2 from the likes of Fer, Sandro, phillips and caulker at least.

Top 6 for me all day possibly even automatics

Some poster do over do the crap denying there is doom and gloom on one thread and on this one coming out with mid table will do or I hope we don't go up if starting a new season without hope isn't doom and gloom what the fark is it ! even though stabilising is the sensible thing to do

Everybody needs to understand that next seasons target is not promotion - it is stability..the club desperately needs to re ground itself on a firm footing so that the next time we go up we can stay up for longer than the last two attempts..if we are to become an established Premier league club we first have to become a club again rather than a cash cow for overpaid footballers of recent years. so a lot of people on here are going to be very frustrated if they can't buy into the same vision that the club now seems to have.

yes we all want to watch a successful team but we also want a club that the older ones amongst us remember supporting.

we want to be competitive and if you are in it you have to want to win it but the playoffs will be a bonus..the only danger will be that we fluke those like we did a year ago and look where that got us! for me last season was one of the most miserable in the 40 odd seasons i have been going ..i am happy to wait one or two years if it means watching decent competitive football from players that actually want to play football rather than count their cash and pose in front of expensive cars.
