100% with you on this kev.Originally posted by Kevin Mcleod View PostCant see why if we go straight back up with this fresh new approach and transfer policy, why we cant stay up using it. So if we go up with the new regime, im sure we can stay up with it.
As long as the new identity, philosophy and approach is installed with the same sort of backing as before it s shouldn't harm us at all all to go back up first time of asking.
We have competed at the top of the table in the championship the last two seasons we have been there and our board whatever they say will want a return to the premier league ASAP.

it didn't work for burnley..leicester had to spend to stay up in the end..you will not be able to make a team of league one stars and kids and few season pros survive in the prem at the first attempt..the type of players we are signing need time to adapt to the next level before taking on the prem..look what happened to furlong last season. to go up straight away again would only continue the boom and bust cycle we are in now.Originally posted by maidstone_hoop View Post100% with you on this kev.

Good post! I don't believe in rebuilding, establishing ourselves, re grounding etc. ######## if that would mean minimum five years in the Championship before you may try to get promoted. We have now a new philosophy, we need to do our best now, not in the far future.Originally posted by Kevin Mcleod View PostCant see why if we go straight back up with this fresh new approach and transfer policy, why we cant stay up using it. Agree but thats exactly what southampton and Swansea did..they prepared right from the lower leagues established a good youth system a lot of the players who are still playing for them now played for them in the bottom tiers..we have just dismantled an entire squad!Originally posted by Timmy the Doc View PostAny promoted team has to buy minimum of 5-8 players if they want to survive/succeed in the Premier league. Look at Swansea, Southampton etc. Key is who and which kind of players you buy. Do not believe in ''rebuilding from our youngsters etc.'', it's naive.

We don't know how prominent these players are going to be or if they genuinely are gems. Most of the Brentford squad stepped up and thrived in this league without breaking sweat.Originally posted by 3London View Postit didn't work for burnley..leicester had to spend to stay up in the end..you will not be able to make a team of league one stars and kids and few season pros survive in the prem at the first attempt..the type of players we are signing need time to adapt to the next level before taking on the prem..look what happened to furlong last season. to go up straight away again would only continue the boom and bust cycle we are in now.
I personally believe we will keep 3 or 4 of the likes of ned, Phillips, caulker and Sandro and will still add some quality prove. Players . Our board have always backed the manager and want to be a prem league team. Our first 11 will not be all recruited on league 1 players like some seem to think.
When Charlie and prob fer goes I bet we invest in quality players and spend more than people think we are going to.
