I cant believe we spent all preseason preparing for 3-5-2, brought hoddle in, bought players that specifically play in this formation (ie isla), got rid of others that dont suit it (ie simpson) and then scrapped it after 2 games

I never had much faith in Simpson as a defender - he was prone to sloppiness. I admit I was a lone voice amongst my mates with that view so I felt vindicated when we let him go. I agree that it currently does not like Isla is an improvement though. Phillips is a big unit. Given he seems to have limited effect as a winger/wideman I'd be curious to see him have a go at right back.Comment

Great back up defender who we sold to one of our rivals. Madness. If Isla gets injured, who do we have that is a natural RB? I dont trust Ned at RB and Phillips/Hoilett hardly inspire confidence.Comment
