think i saw something he wrote about the move where he said that he was surprised when the club told him there'd be an offer and it had been accepted... didn't have the impression that he'd angled for it.

my guess is that tf is saying that, after 3 years of generosity, we have to generate a bit of income to offset the outlay on transfers... and if someone offers reasonable cash for a player that's not likely to be a first team regular, then they'll accept it (see also palace offer for traore). if so, it's fair enough... he's backed manager after manager, there has to be a point where we start selling players

hr played simpson at rb in every game he was fit for last year and he was a solid consistent 7 or 8 out of 10 performer every week
cant see him champing at the bit to replace simpson with an untried and untested replacement tbh just doesn't fit his m.o.

I agree and he was sorely missed when he was out injured. I really have no idea why he was sold - dumb move by QPR IMO.
