Despised??? That's a bit strong. Think people dislike him because of his attitude but I don't think anyone despises him... he was a massive part in our promotion season, no one will despise him!.... just think its best for all parties that he was sold so we can all move on!I really hope this sorts itself out one way or the other soon.
Mainly because these threads are depressing as hell.
When you consider the amount of absolute nothing dross or worse that has passed through our club in the last 15-20 years and left no lasting impression in the memory at all, but a player that actually got the pulses racing and entertained (even if only in some minds for one season only) seems to be absolutely despised by some of our fans because of his attitude, it's a real shame.
Perhaps when he's moved on he'll be remembered more fondly?

No cut-price deal for Taarabt, insists Harry: http://www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/a...football74712?
“I don’t know what’s happening with Adel. He hasn’t done a day’s training since we’ve been back. He’s miles away from being fit to play at the moment.
I think he’s fit to train this week, but I think wants to move. But if he doesn’t want to be here then someone’s got to pay the money. He’s not going to go cheap.”Comment

Adel clearly is despised, or at least very much disliked, by a huge chunk of our gans.
The fact Bobby Zamora has turned into a weird folk hero while people on here bend reality to have a go at Taarabt says so many depressing things about English football and our supporters.Comment

Redknapp says Taarabt has not trained ahead of the new season, that the 25-year-old is determined to move on and in any case would not be fit enough to play Premier League football were he to stay..... The Rangers boss said: “I don’t know what’s happening with Adel. He hasn’t done a day’s training since we’ve been back. He’s miles away from being fit to play at the moment".
What self respecting professional footballer doesn't train? Or keep himself fit? Or give some kind of s hit for the club paying his wages? But, hey, let's build the freaking team around him, why don't we?Comment

That sounds like a report he gave a few weeks ago, can't see him being in Ireland and not training?Redknapp says Taarabt has not trained ahead of the new season, that the 25-year-old is determined to move on and in any case would not be fit enough to play Premier League football were he to stay..... Is this the same Redknapp who said last season he didn't want Taarabt back from his loan at Fulham and then a week later when he was going to Milan said he would love to have him back ?Redknapp says Taarabt has not trained ahead of the new season, that the 25-year-old is determined to move on and in any case would not be fit enough to play Premier League football were he to stay..... I think that would be explained by the bold bit of HR's quote. IOW he hasn't been fit enough to train until this week.No cut-price deal for Taarabt, insists Harry: http://www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/a...football74712?

I think, fellas, we all know he's not fit. One look at the few photos of him tells you that. There are few porkers like him playing professional football even when- in Adel land- he's fit to Adel standard. Such a shame. But there we are.Comment

So, under 77's post I have highlighted Geng's comment - just so you can try (go on at least have a go) to understand the reality of it all.
No one really disputes that Adel has talent and all of us would happily accommodate that talent it it was not to the detriment of the rest of the team. You just spent the best part of an 8 page thread telling us that you don't mind compromising other bits of the game so you can watch the lad's amazing talent (ok I'm paraphrasing) but he is clearly despised by some for the very reasons highlighted above. Some of us have watched Rangers for years and years, remember the glory days of watching Marsh & Bowles and we would all give our right arm for those kind of icons to come again down at the Club we love - but we are not prepared to join some fantasy love in for a player that has done nothing to show that he wants to be here, get fit/stay fit and have any interest in the tradition that a player with his talent should be giving to the Rangers number 10 shirt#standuptocancer

I should've been more specific, as thats not what I meant. I meant when was the last time he showed his talent for QPR, fulham at home?AC Milan a few months ago. The fact you mention the Fulham match (december 2012) is a great example of selective memory. Five months later he completely turned the game against Villa away, sending through about four brilliant through balls within ten minutes of coming on. But no, he only had two good games in the PL, sure.
I've no doubt a player of his talent doesn't want to play for the ungrateful mob at loftus road. I wouldn't either. Maybe his high wages will keep him here, who knows.
I don't expect Adel to start on saturday - as ever, I'm just trying to stop history being rewritten.
Ungrateful? No, thats complete tosh. I don't know a QPR fan who is ungrateful for what Taarabt did for us in our Championship winning season. Everyone expected him to make the step up to the premier league, but im afraid if you take your rose-tinted I-Love-Adel glasses off, you will see that in 2 premier league seasons, he turned out maybe a handful of good performances for us, and threw strops along the way.
Remember the bus incident? Has there been a pre season since he joined, except perhaps before out first PL season, where he hasnt wanted a move away from LR? No.
Should we be grateful to have a player blessed with an unbelievable talent, who simply doesnt want to use it at QPR? No.Top Scorers 2018/2019
