True, but then a club our size cannot really spend a stack of money for a player to flit in and out of the side.
Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

Exactly this, not to mention that we actually have players who can change the shape of our side currently. I think with 10m you'd want a pretty big upgrade on a first 11 man. Forster for Green for example, but we really need an upgrade in midfield imo. Someone who is going to make us tick.

Upgrade? Townsend better than SWP, Traore, Phillips and hoilett..(all who "flit in and out" of the side) younger ..full england international ...which bit of that is not an upgrade..really struggling to understand the resistance to this sort of signing.

Upgrade our starting 11 yes. SWP a starter in your team, that's fair enough. Wouldn't be in mine.

No nor mine but townsend would be one of the first names on the team sheet and would upgrade the first 11

Where would you play him though, if we were playing with wingers I'd agree 100% we should get him, although I'd baulk at 10m personally. Don't get me wrong, I like Townsend and was one of the few that backed him to do well for us when we signed him, just he doesn't fit the system at present and it's not going to do his international aspirations any good sitting on the bench.

Townsend epitomises these overhyped, too much too soon type of English players. If you ignore the media hype you will see he is bang average and doesn't give much to the team. There is a reason he has repeatedly been loaned out across the lower leagues!

That 10M could give us a solid midfield instead of a luxury signing, would rather do that & see how Phillips does.

Do we need a venn diagram here?

Townsend will not be joining us for the above reasons. As a depth option he would compliment what we have already. Don't think he's any better than Hoilett/Phillips however. Stick with what he have for the moment and don't pay crazy money for a sub-standard Pommie talent.
