He has in pre season so far. The point I was making is that some people were questioning his quality against our current players. In my opinion I think he is better than all our current wide players , swp, toilet Philips and should walk into our team on merit.

Tend to agree with you mate although I'm not judging Phillips just yet. I've not really seen him compete in a Rangers top. Before he got injured he was still finding his feet as a qpr player. But as for Townsend he's definitely a top player who had a brilliant spell with us.

Exactly Geng. Just because we have a different opinion of him we must have defective memories.....

Struggling to see where he would play as we have just brought in the Juve player to bomb down the right. Maybe as a number 10, but he is (imho) an out and out winger. Wd presumably mean the end of Philips. All that said he and remy were the only two bright spots in a dismal second half to the season last time, plays with passion and confidence, and the tweet about our defensive signings hinted to me that there had been some informal discussions. So not clear how he would fit in but Terry Venables always used to say that if a player was good enough you could fit them into any system.

I think Kane will/could be a crackin player in a few years. However I wouldn`t swap Loic for pretty much anyone...

I think some of the comments on this thread are due to the fact that Andros is one of those players who gets mentioned every window and so far has never signed (apart from the loan spell) and possibly never will.

It's alright saying Remy can't be used in a trade off for a player but that may be the best way to go , you'll be very unikely to get any loyalty from a French player if another bigger club comes in for him you'll get le sulk and have to shift him for the sake of the dressing room, ok you'll get money but might not get a player as good as trade with a club that wants him might bring , therefore you know if Spurs were to offer Townsend in a deal you know you'll get quality and effort

And this idea that foreigners sulk and moan whereas our British boys are hard-working rights sorts is nonsense.
