Billy Sharp's at Doncaster, there's a reason for that.

Belfodil is at Inter Milan, and cost 7.5mill from Parma. there's a reason for that.

..... Don't get me wrong, I quite like Billy Sharp and i'd take him as a last option. But that what he is, a last option. IMO.

I work with an Italian lad, thinks he knows his football. I asked him about Belfodil and he said he reminds him of Federico Macheda but obviously can get better because he's young. He reckons he won't make much impact in 6 months. Let's hope he's a bit better than Macheda eh?

Way i see it bud is a player like Sharp has the experience of the Championship,the cold tuesday winters evening at Blackpool,an average of a goal every 2 and a 1/3 games,and has proven his ability in this league.

This young lad is in for a culture shock,new country and maybe language depending on his English ability,different style of football,cold weather which many foreigners hate,and pressure to deliver from the start.

I know which one i would consider the far less risk.

Using Sharp as an example,but he is the type of player we need,someone experienced in our situation.

This young lad is more the type of player that would need blooding in our game,not dropping in the deep end if Austin gets injured.

Considering the tens of millions we wasted under Hughes,Rhodes would earn most of that back even if we got relegated after one season.

Could be the most important signing since Ferdinand.

But as usual another missed ooportunity and gonna do it the hard way and risk it all on an unproven youngster.

I'd pay for him, but not at a stupid price like 10mil upfront or whatever's quoted. Remember Remy was only 8mill.

No guarantees that his goals would get us promoted either. He hasn't exactly blasted Blackburn out the Championship has he?

41 in 83 games for Doncaster.

100% agree with you. I've been calling for Rhodes for a couple of years now. Who ever gets him wether it's this window or in the summer has got a serious goal machine on their hands. And as we all know goal scorers like that are like rocking horse ****.
