You have a right to your opinion. But in this case, you are simply wrong.

I would also fear with a beanpole up front, if he ever came back, players will revert to a long ball game, which is the last thing we want to see.

Also i get sick of hearing players have soft spots for clubs and would put in a shift, it means nothing if their game is lacking. DJ Campbell was a fan and was awful for us. Everyone on this forum has a soft spot and would put in a shift but would hardly be the answer.

Crouch doesn't bring goals. Hardly any of his goals at Liverpool, Spurs or Stoke have been from "balls lumped in the box". He's at his worst when teams go long ball. The trick there is to coach your central defenders and full backs so they are brave enough to look for a pass rather than take the easy ball or the cowards ball out by lumping it forward. Crouch brings the forward lying midfielders into the final third, he tees up goals for "proper" goalscorers - eg (Rooney, Defoe, Torres, Pavlyuchenko, Krancjar, Gerrard) - He wouldn't score more than 4 himself but he'd hold the ball nicely and make sure Austin scores another 10 and players like Benayoun and Krancjar pose more of goalscoring threat. And he does have a sell on value too. Not sure where this myth has arisen. Maybe due to the nonsense that Hughes and Warnock lumbered us with.

He's 33 in a few days, would expect at least a 2 year deal, more than likely more, which our club would probably be stupid enough to offer, which would take him to 36..... yeah he'd have a really geed sell on value!

Agree with the Tarbs comment. Losing 3-0, dribbling the ball out of play, shooting when he should have passed and generally doing some fancy but unproductive stuff!!

I'm just messing btw, if he comes I will get behind the lad.

                    • Ha ha, every time we sign some outcast from ManUnited, Real Madrid, Inter or any other major club, half of posters here get so anxious they pee their pants and attack those who still wear dry ones.

We have had a couple of Manure's young players in the last few years who turned out to be utter sh1te.

Too many people getting starstruck about a striker with a poor record from some fancy foreign team.

                            Rather have had Billy Sharp.

Yeh Billy Sharps 13 goals in his last two seasons is amazing. Coupled with the fact he's never scored in the top division makes me think he's a far better option that a 7.5m young Inter striker who got 8 goals in 22 starts for parma last season.

FFS, I sometimes wonder who our fans expect us to sign.

143 goals in 330 games is somewhat more impressive than al-jazeera's 8 goals in 5 years.

But he ain't some fancy foreigner what fans seem to think makes them a better player than a proven British lad.
