This. Let's welcome him, give him a chance, but let's not suggest he's brilliant etc without seeing what he can do. I trust Harry- it wasnt his fault Samba was a fat waste of space- but I can't get excited about a player I've never heard of. And who's name I have yet to leant how to spell.

We've had players here for years, and people on here still can't spell their name.

Not excited is perfectly understandable, it's the idiots who are convinced he's useless already that annoy me.

And you can be fairly sure, he'll be noting down every shot that goes wide, or pass that doesn't find it's target to justify how right he was.

Seriously though - this guy is completely untested and unproven - I watch a hell of a lot of Serie A and this guy barely registers on Inter's bench. He may be good, he may not be but we'll give him a chance. Fail to see the difference though between him and Chevanton, except Chevanton had the experience and the goalscoring record.

And the beanpole from Stoke (who has England caps, Champions League pedigree and knows the Championship inside and out) would be far more likely to deliver promotion rather than a untried kid out of a Serie A reserve team
We attracted 3 champions league winners who were over 30 and past it mate! totally different!!

Of course he is, his 22! you cant be proven at 22!! - Not one of our team would register on Inters bench either! were in the championship!
Chevantons 34, that's the difference and was a free agent.

Please don't give me Crouch would fire us to promotion, please read that back out loud.. what do we do when we get up again and crouch is 35 or whatever. were stuck with him..

That's a load of rubbish in my opinion.. we had an untried kid at 22 from spurs reserve team fire us to promotion last time!.. Tarbs!

he hasn't played in the championship for about ten years so how does he know it inside out??

The financial reward of getting promotion would far out way any contract paid to Crouch who would be far less risk at this stage over some untested , unproven foreign kid

Crouch is not coming. Get over it! So Harry has to look at other options.

So lets get another 34 year old who hasn't played in the champ for years and will cost us more money rather than a young talented player from Inter?
                        Do me a favour!!

Wasn't Tarbs that 'young unproven foreign kid' , once upon a time?

Di Carmine? He was young, inexperienced and from a sexy Serie A side with a cool kit too. Pellicori? Tomassi??

Crouch would near on guarantee promotion - would certainly be far more use than a untried kid whose never played in England! £5m for promotion is chicken feed given the riches on offer. If we wanted to he could sit on the bench for his remaining 2.5 years on his contract. Plus, there wouldn't be any shortage of buyers if Harry felt he could no longer do a job in the PL. There's very little risk buying a 32 year old Crouch to play in the Championship (experience, goals, good injury record).

Taarabt wasn't untried - we'd had him on loan for months previously and his ability (if not his attitude) were very well known throughout the country.

Uninspiring, not what we needed at all but I'll be giving him 100% support.
