I've thought for a while now that they'll be opening a new station on the overground between Shep B and Willesden Jct. For anyone who takes that train regularily you'll notice there's always building work going on and train slows down right above the Pavillion. Also, for such a busy line now it's a fair old distance from Shep B to WJ without a stop.

Hence why i think the new stadium will be around there -

Whilst I dont disagree with the naming of the ground (its the way all clubs are going as a way to bring in more funds, we as fans can christen it something else that we can call it) I dont agree with your statement ''But its Tony Fernandes' football club, he can do what he likes'. He might be the money man but he is only the custodian of our club and the fans must always have a say in things that matter.

All clubs that have built new stadiums in the last few years have done it mate.

                    Unfortunately its the way forward.

Yeah okay fair point. I think I should of put it as, it's his master plan & we should respect that if we want the best for QPR
                      Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
                      And many more mistakes

Think of it this way, Emirates pay Arsenal say 150m over 7 seasons for naming rights however Emirates will make back more then 150m for their advertisment. Fernandes' AirAsia pay nothing, however AirAsia make a shed load of money & that money gives Fernandes a better bank balance & his money goes into QPR. Another very wise move from the owners.

As for the ground itself it's going to be very sad leaving Loftus Road but very exciting to get a nice big well thought through & NOT out of the box ground as Fernandes said he wants it like Loftus Road but bigger & fans will have a big say. It also might help QPR players & fans get that small club mentality out of their heads

Thanks for the explanation but you are seriously naive if you think the profits made by AirAsia will be put back into QPR.

Another very wise move from the owners. That i cannot disagree with as they are getting free advertising that has cost some companies up to £150m. Would we not be better served to put the naming rights out to tender and see what sort of offers we get? Surely a £50m 5 year deal (as an example) with a different company would be more beneficial to QPR then just naming it after the chairman's company. The only argument i have in Fernandes' favour is if he declares the naming rights deal as more then expected and allows us to have more room to manoeuvre in the transfer market with Financial Fair Play coming into effect, similar to man city.

the day we get a 35,000 seater could be the day i stop going to rangers.

the thought of sitting in a 3/4 empty lifeless bowl destroys me, we sold out about 5 games in our promotion year FFS

The naming rights will not be 'free', Air Asia will probably pay an inflated naming rights fee as that would help with the FFP rules I would imagine.

All against the spirit of FFP but certainly not unusual at the moment for stadium naming rights and sponsorship etc.

Better facilities will attract more fans and convince those that stay away because of the restricted views/cramped conditions to make a return.

Okay I understand that, but my thinking is Tony Fernandes is going to be at QPR for years to come. If Tony Fernandes gets bigger profits calling it AirAsia Stadium over another company buying the rights, then in the long run Fernandes is making more money then a random company. Fernandes' wealth benefits QPR, I hope that's clear, it's quite hard to put into words
