It shouldn't be forgotten that this is not just going to be our home. It's going to be a multi-purpose site and has to be. It'll be empty 340 days a year otherwise and should be used for other things to bring money in.Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

Or perhaps we love QPR the perfectly formed size we are, and dont want to sell our souls and have the clubs future gambled with.Originally posted by QPR Richard View PostSeems many here have no ambition whatsoever. Perhaps they're hoping we'll get swallowed up by Chelski or the Fools.....
To suggest we are not loyal to QPR and hope we get swallowed up by Chelsea or Fulham , just because we might not share TF vision for the club , is not only disrespectful , its pretty foolish too.Rangers,Scooters ,Tunes and Trainers

I'm not being disrespectful to any fan who opposes the move. The fact is, if we don't grown we will die. Kids won't want to come to watch football at LR because it's a poor stadium. They'll go elsewhere because other places will be better equipped.Originally posted by vespa View PostOr perhaps we love QPR the perfectly formed size we are, and dont want to sell our souls and have the clubs future gambled with.

If we want to survive in the cut-throat world of football we have to move with the times.Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

Anything more than 25k absolute tops will be useless for a few years. We have 15k fans maybe 20k at a push. We take the pi$$ outta Foolham for the "tourists" and $hit atmosphere yet we will be exactly like that if we jump into a 35k seater stadium. Yes, for the next generation maybe it'll be a great move with kids starting to support us eh, but for a while we will be in a stadium too big for us IMO.You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

Suggesting we are HOPING we get swallowed by Chelsea and Fulham ,was disrespectful .
But you are entitled to your opinion on the ground move, the same way we are entitled to ours.Rangers,Scooters ,Tunes and Trainers

I think a lot to do with the capacity will be to do with the concerts that can be held inside it, and the revenue it will generate until the time when we can fill it.Originally posted by MattyRangers View PostAnything more than 25k absolute tops will be useless for a few years. I don't think a new stadium will open for at least 5-10 years anyway. Plenty of time to build a successful team hopefully from the new academy. A team that will be good to watch and attracting new young fans.Originally posted by MattyRangers View PostAnything more than 25k absolute tops will be useless for a few years. I agree. The O2 accommodates 20,000 and is the largest covered music venue in London. A 35,000 venue will fill the gap between the 02 and say, the Emirates for gigs. I'm sure Phil Beard knows the market and what a new stadium might generate for the club money wise.Originally posted by HoopDoggyDogg View PostI think a lot to do with the capacity will be to do with the concerts that can be held inside it, and the revenue it will generate until the time when we can fill it.Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. I think that we should go back to a 60`s stadium, mud hills on all sides, undeveloped stands, no turnstiles, dog c rap on the pitch, won`t cost a lot to develop, easy to hold non football events and if we move to old oak our new local rivals could be at the local HMP.My old man was the star player for HMP Parkhurst during their successful and unbeaten 77/78 season.

Yeh, Beard ain't stupid when he has the success of 02 and the Olympics under his belt.Originally posted by QPR Richard View PostI agree. Would be in an area with easy access from Euston, Westfield Shopping Centre and the West End.
I think the area around the ground would probably have a Hotel, Casino etc as well.

I'm remember reading that beard wants the new ground to be the biggest venue in london. It won't be just a football stadium , if we only have 20k for a few years so be it , personally I love Loftus road however for the future it won't work .
Also tony has said if it is possible to have a stading area he wants it , the seats will be retractable anyway so if in 8years the fa ect decide to allow standing areas we can just remove loads of seat
