Seems this is a topic many people here are completely incapable of discussing, and Marshy shouldn't be blamed for that.
As a standalone thing you might be right, but taken in the greater context of Marshy being the centre of the WATRB universe at the moment, it was ill-advised at best, and probably just deliberately downright provocative of Marshy to go down that route in that thread.

The General chat forum is there for that conversation, but maybe doesn't have a big enough audience for Marshy.

There is. I know what you're saying in that sometimes it's nice to have a debate without slanging, but in this particular instance the bloke is trying to compare people giving their condolences to a fallen soldier with some pratt using the thread to make political arguements. In my mind, that makes him a **** of the highest order, exactly as jfish stated. Sometimes the blunt truth needs to be told.

Not stirring, it was absolutely relevant to a point I made about 15 minutes ago.

'Political' doesn't imply party politics by the way. But supporting and lionising the military is definitely a poltical act.

If it helps, wishing the Queen happy birthday would be another example of a political act. Saying RIP to Stephen Lawrence another.

Which are all valid points, but should be "debated" in a seperate thread in the General Chat section. Again, comes back to the whole "time and a place" issue.

It says something when this forum isn't even able to keep a condolences thread for a fallen soldier civil :pleasantsuprise:

Does anyone else feel that all we talk about on this board now is either Marshy/Harshy and the comments that they leave?

It's incredibly tedious and exactly what he wants.

The board has taken a massive nose dive in the last few weeks with a combination of over zealous mods and an inability to ignore someone who is clearly only here to start arguments among fans and cause division with purposely controversial posts.

I think it's a massive, massive leap to suggest that people being sad about a fellow QPR fan dying is political. I'd being sending my best wishes, regardless of the job he was doing, or the manner in which he died.

This forum is about football. That thread was about respecting a Rangers fan who served in the armed forces. Grow the f@ck up. We don't need you to tell us what's political or not. Go sell leftism somewhere else. There are plenty of places to do it. You don't need to do it here. Ninety nine percent of us come on here only and solely to read about the Rangers.

Sure, but it would still be a political act, albeit a fairly uncontroversial one.

                          'Political' doesn't just mean controversial.

If people are wishing him RIP as a fellow R rather than as a solider, it would be less political. But given the reactions in this thread and the other one, I expect the fact he was a soldier does matter to people

You have and you knew what you was doing by saying it. Post for effect just like Marshy.

True - 1 of them seemingly the focal point of everything that's discussed on here these days, which he must love. Bet he's sitting there in his string vest and yellow-stained Y fronts laughing his nuts off whilst slurping his Pot Noodle.

                                look

look we are all being over analytical about this subject, some of us have penetrated chelsea message boards and we have put a serious spanner in the works, creating merry hell getting genuine chelsea fans banned
but all of us were winkled out over a period of time its sounds cruel but its all part of the message board war that has raged since 2004
marshy has been caught out because every statement hes made has been derogatory to qpr, whether its about harry redknapp or botheroyde all his statements have been cruel,or nasty
our mods are actually the nicest of all the message boards..FACTOMONDO was given a life ban from the qpr dot org site JUST BECAUSE HE SAID HE KNEW ME.this marshy has come on board and been abusive to everybody and he is doing this because our message board is known to have the nicest mods,,i say now is our time my qpr brothers lets at least move marshy onto the qpr dot org site there he will remain untill they also find him out
THIS IS NOTHING PERSONEL I LOVE MY RANGERS AND MARSHY LOVES HIS CHELSEA,but lets move on
