Thought Eustace set up Derby to thwart us especially Saito first half. Felt Smyth a better option at ht to dembele and chair needed to play further forward and not get dragged deep where others can bring ball forward. Very poor goal to concede and thought defender should have got to it, if not nardi!

We seem to be square pegs in round holes again field is never a full back at 6ft 4 stick him upfront as Frey barely touched the ballOriginally posted by DJ Hooper W12 View PostThree games and three points when l thought we could have won all of them. As you say we won the game at Swansea but didn’t give a good account of ourselves. Seems to me they are prepared to accept mid/lower table and that’s near enough
Only one team wanted the points today. We’ve lost our mojo
dembele offered less than vale which is some achievement, chair needs to be in the no.10 role simple as that nowhere need quick enough to play wide
Kone needs to sit on the bench and let kolli have a run can’t offer any less than Kone has in last 3 matches
need a rb a gk in Jan get poku fit he’s a game changer

Agreed but I’d take an ounce of fight against an ounce of quality any day. And we had neither today unfortunatelyOriginally posted by shaggy24 View Post

Ive looked at the goal many times and all this Nardy coming off the line yo claim the ball doesn't apply here. The ball was lobbed in and the ball was falling to feet level as Dunne failed to get a challenge in. It wasnt a cross from out wide where he could claim it at height. If Nardi came off his line any more the chances are that he would have given away a penalty. That goal is fully down to Dunne for not being on his toes and letting his player get goal side of him

He is glued to his line, ball is in the 6 yard box, he should have moved and just claimed the ball. Blokes a liability and cost us points week in week out., makes the occasional good save, that’s his job. We have 2 weak goalkeepers and need to replace both.Originally posted by SheepRanger View PostIve looked at the goal many times and all this Nardy coming off the line yo claim the ball doesn't apply here. Some have suggested that 2 away games in 3 days is the problem, well if it is we need to find a solution because we have Blackburn away on 26 November and Norwich away 3 days later. Then Portsmouth away on 26 December and West Brom away 3 days later. Then Stoke away on 17 January and Oxford away 3 days later.

The arch of the lob into the box was so high, so by the time it was at a goalkeeping height it had dropped directly in front of Dunne & the winger. Nardi couldn't claim the ball without making contact with the winger and giving away a penalty. Nardi was not "glued" to his line, he was advanced and tried to spread himself.Originally posted by Romford Hoop View Post

It that situation any keeper would expect a fullback to deal with it and not fly out doing a superman impression and colliding with two players at chest height and giving away a penalty.
Maybe Nardi could have position and spread himself slightly more to his left, as strikers always go for the far post. But ultimately this was Dunne's error not Nardi's.
Any amatuer fullback would be holding his hand up and accepting responsibility for poor positioning and reflexes to react to that lobbed ball into the box.
Before we get a new keeper, its more of a priority to get a more agile RB. Dunne doesn't have the speed in his legs to be in that position. He lumbers around the pitch like Dickie used to......flat footed and the turning ability of a tug boat. Hes a CB, not a RB. I never used to think this of Dunne, but he seems slower than he once was.

Very poor all round, nobody on their game at all but dishonourable mentions have to go to Dunne, Varane and Dembele for being particularly poor.
I have to call out the gaffer too.. odd 4-2-4 shape that left Vale, Burrell, Kone and Saito isolated and allowed Derby to overrun us in midfield. None of the substitutions materially addressed this situation as they were "like for like".
Something has to change cos other teams will soon learn how easy it is to dominate our powder-puff midfield and thwart us.
just like last season, a very ordinary Rams side has physically steam-rollered us, out-muscled us and out ran us. We need to learn how to dig in and standup to big strong athletic teams.
