Lumley confident and composed. Good distribution and comfortable with the ball at his feet.
Kakay great game - plays it simple and is highly effective. Gets forward quickly, strong in the tackle too and fantastic enthusiasm. Continue to be impressed.
Scowen - another one with a great game - strong in the tackle and in possession
Cousins - candidate for MoM alongside Scowen. Exactly the kind of player we thought we bought. Fast along the ground, fast passing and movement, fast to close the space down in defence.
Washingotn - nice to have some mobility and pace up top. Worled hard and played it simple. Some good runs which were not found by his team mates which was a shame for him.

Overall - some impressive possession based football that went from back to front quite quickly at times, when the opportunity arose. Worlds apart from the long ball of last season. Hopefully we continue to get better and better at this.

Delighted about the result but some of the players you mentioned above are good league 1 players and not surprised they stood out as this is their level.

Washington and Cousins go missing in the championship and the last thing we need is McClaren thinking they are the answer.

although I hope Lumley is given a chance in goal.

Agree about Washington but he didn’t impress per se, whilst Cousins did. There is also a major difference in that Cousins HAS shown he can excel at Championship level with Charlton where’s Wash hasn’t. Despite all the obvious frustrations with Cousins I still think there is a player in there. And this was much more like it

Great to see positive comments. And lets hope Cousins gains massive confidence from this and pushes on for us. Doesn't matter who its against, it's a good win and a big confidence booster and let's hope we have a good display Saturday regardless of result as if we can up the standard of our performances the wins will eventually come in the league.

Dare I say it looked like cousins might have had a bit of time and coaching invested in him. Proof of the pudding is the championship but if he takes the work ethic with him it adds something to our attacking game
