I'd like to see the team win games for confidence for the feel good factor tonights game was poor

However, it goes to show that we are a bit light in our squad.
Only 3 youngsters started the game?

In a way, this defeat could work in our favour.

Hopefully it will focus minds in the the management and boardroom that some of these players are not cut out for it and need shipping on.

        yes, el #### is one.

just hope that will force their hand and to go out and spend some of that 10 mil on the targets we need. quality not quantity

El Khayati is worth keeping around as a squad option for now.
Would think both he and Gladwin will be sold a year or so down the line once the likes of Petrasso and Shodipo have fully settled in the first team squad.

Doughty, Petrasso, Kpekewa, Furlong started and then Shodipo, Kakay, Reece-Cox came in. At a time there were five players playing in the side.

Lynch, Shidipo and maybe Doughty played well...
Kpekawa is max. a squad player. Caulker did not play well either in my opinion (waste of money)!

This is exactly it, seen some ridiculous comments on social media (knee jerk imo) about how we need 7 or 8 new signings just to compete at mid table level. Utter tripe. 2, maybe 3 good signings in key positions like up front, on the wing and maybe CM will set us up well for the season.

Doughty can no longer be classed as a youngster in my book.
                  Will be 24 in november.

Mad how when we beat PSV nothings said about the future looking bright and that was some test and proved we are looking strong.
Lose to Groningen and it's all doom and gloom and the season is going to be shite and we have a weak squad.

What's encouraging is that there's some clear planning going on , at least on the pitch. ( unlike the hopeless nonsense we saw from England ). In these pre- season mix and match type games, hopefully assessments are bring made. We see the same things every season. I would expect only 4 of those that started tonight to start against Leeds.
