It's easy to blame the board for not giving the required backing after a failure. Look at Lambert, he would probably have done the same thing if he was sacked from Norwich in November as he didn't have much money to spend in the summer.

He was sacked at Forest, after taking them to two successive playoff finals. I'm living in the area, and the bloke is very well regarded up here is the thing. By both sets of fans.

Well Dave Jones did quite well at cardiff too then - but don't get me wrong, we're at another level now mate - Billy Davies is an average manager, but not good enough for us. Warnock is probably a better manager than Davies and look how things turned out for him in the premiership.

It's a tough league, not everyone can make the step up this is true. Thing is, Dave Jones and Neil Warnock have managed more than one club in the Premier League. Davies only had one small chance with a Derby team he took up. Got very close twice with Forest too.

He didn't get the funds needed to improve the squad, in the summer. He took a mediocre Derby side into the Premier League, they were always going to struggle.

You don't seem to know anything about that period, so I'm a little perplexed you're slating Davies when you didn't even know they didn't go down with the bloke? You're on the internet, why not do some research?

he also took them up a couple seasons earlier than they had planned so the board didnt have the resources for davies. double edged sword for him
