Yes he did got them promoted at 1st atempt in his own words it was to quick to early , then got no help from the board money wise to keep them up
Same at Forest no cash he was promised

I'm sure the board is looking at a number of candidates at present. Tony's no mug. He'll have his back-up plan at the ready in case he has to push the button on Hughes.

Would have loved Holloway, but we've missed the boat now.

We've had a few threads on managerial options and one thing stands out- there is no clear candidate and certainly no one that we can be sure will guarantee results.

I am still backing Hughes, partly due to a lack of good alternatives and partly because I believe in the long run we'll be better off. However, failure to win against
Southampton and I will have to say his time is up and we should look elsewhere.

warnock got thumped by six goals at the weekend. if he rocked up here exactly the same people who are now moaning about hughes wd be moaning about warno in a month. harry is the only credible replacement and he comes with considerable risks/ baggage and wd certainly be seen a panic/ fairly short term appointment. not saying it won't happen at some point but there are no easy, pain free options left.

He left in November 2007, it was Paul Jewell that was relegated with them in 2008. Not only that, but Jewell carried their wretched form on into the lower division.

To be fair to Davies, he didn't have anything like the squad that Hughes has to work with.

You don't seem to know anything about that period, so I'm a little perplexed you're slating Davies when you didn't even know they didn't go down with the bloke? You're on the internet, why not do some research?

Nah, know some from that period, but not as much as you - obviously.. What I know is that he had a very good squad to work with at Nottingham forest, and was sacked from there - don't know which season tho, but feel free to look it up..

It's easy to blame the board for not giving the required backing after a failure. Look at Lambert, he would probably have done the same thing if he was sacked from Norwich in November as he didn't have much money to spend in the summer.

The title is a list of managers the o p thinks we should be LOOKING at not who we prefer ,so where do I say I prefer B Davis to M H what I said was on 2nd thought B Davis is worth a close look at , If M H was to go imo he would be worth talking to, an opinion ! Davis has never had funds to build on what he has the chance to start at Derby N/ forest , But if you don't like a posters opinion there no need make an issue just ignore it ,it's only one persons opinion to wich they are entitled to hold
