would anyone on here go for a drink with hughes , the man is a bore hardly smiles and reels off excuse after excuse .where is the mans passion . imagine working for him and having to listen to his voice every morning . his team selection always worries me , why would you ever start swp ,onouha , zamora and leave the likes of hoilett and cisse on the bench . i was at the arsenal game and on another day but for the superb cesar it could have been 3 or 4 nil .zamora was dire never won a header , static and kept losing the ball ... but good old sparky will still start him against the fake hoops

prefer Hughes' demeanour to Warnocks just happy to be in the prem attitude - he was like a kid in a sweet shop, especially at Anfield. Its a real honour for QPR to be playing at such a stadium attitude. imo!

Yes, I recall Warnock's attitude last season and I commented about it on a number of posts.

I heard a Foolham fan on Talk****e last night (about 6.50) say "they only finished 8th by a mixture of luck and own goals, and that MH was clueless tactically"

Also just fitted a kitchen for a Sports Journalist who works on The Sport, who nearly wet himself when I turned up in my R's bobble hat, once he caught his breath the first thing he said was "You'll never win anything with Hughes in charge, he is clueless" and he is a Man City fan .........

Man City fans said exactly the same to us at the end of last season.

When all rational arguments and the form book say the same thing, it is a form of denial to somehow imagine that sunlit uplands are just around the corner. I'll give anyone decent odds against us staying up if Hughes stays. A bit of 5/2 should get Sparky fans salivating, but somehow I think even they really know the score. They don't want to admit it and I understand that.

As for the chaos that would follow a change, what the fvck do people think our defence look like every Saturday afternoon? Like somehow we're settled at the moment.........

I think that the longer Hughes, the deeper in the mire the team will get.

He is not going to suddenly start to win games.

QPR have won 6 games since he took over in January. He has spent around £30m on players Onuoha, Zamora, Cisse, Park, Hoilett, Granero, Diakite, Mbia as well as a number of frees inclusing Cesar, Green, Nelsen, Bosingwa & Johnson.

The team is playing well in patches during games, goals are hard to come by and the defending is a joke (the only worse I have seen this season is from Man City at corners with their pathetic zonal marking).

This is quite a good article, especially the part about Hughes' 'arrogance' at believing his job is safe.

Defence. The one area everyone agreed had to be worked on, and an area that wasn't addressed properly. Hardly surprising we've lost so many games this season and got an appalling goal difference. Even Mark Bowen said the defence has him tearing his hair out.

Have to wonder how much better things might have been had we gone for Michael Dawson and/or Ryan Shawcross, as well as LB cover for Traore, and ditched one or two of our haphazard defenders.

Hughes doesn't impress me as a tactician. Sorry to disappoint the Hughes cheerleaders, but that's my opinion.

Yes as I've said all along, I'd give Hughes at least one full season in charge but that's because I happen to believe he'll turn things around, so I dont think its risky. It would be far riskier to sack him and bring yet another manager in with all the inevitable upheaval and further instability that would bring, and of course with no guarantee that results would actually improve. Rodney Marsh said it would be "insanity" to get rid of him now; TF said it would be "suicide", both gave reasoned and cogent points as to why and I happen to agree with them both. Granted Hughes' away record isn't great and people are now using that as a rod to beat him with, but if they're going to use his stats why do they conveniently only refer to his away record and not his home, thus not giving a balanced overview. His overall managerial record is really not as bad as people are now trying to twist because they've lost their patience with him.
