One year older and only scored 14 for Birmingham last season, one of our strikers should get 14. Phillips unlikely to leave Birmingham on 20k plus a week.

To be precise, 14 goals from 24 starts and 12 sub appearances. Be surprised if any striker on our books could come close to matching that.

Morrison, Chopra, Ameobi, Fryatt, Campbell, Miller, Earnshaw. No guarantees, but all much more likely to score goals than our lot, because they are better than what we have. Same with Beckford

We have let striker after striker slip through our fingers who are capable of scoring goals at this level.

On another note why wasn't Pellicori involved yeserday? He can't do any worse than anyone else we have got. Start the Italian lets see what he has got our stikeforce as it stands is impotent. I have no problem playing Taarabt as the second striker but we need an old fashion centre forward to hold the line and I believe this summer we signed one?

Spot on. Money was brought in with the sales of Blackstock, Cox & Delaney. Another few million could be raised by selling Legs and Hall and no one would miss them. If it costs £3m to get Beckford in, it should be done. No wringing of hands and trying to sell us all a sob story about how tough it all is.
