No one knows how much the transfer offer was and no one knows how much we are offering him in wages - all this stuff that gets posted about players being on £### wages is dross.
If Dawson passes the medical, he is fit, if he is fit he is not a gamble but an excellent acquisition.
Shawcross would be too but I have little doubt that he would cost a lot more in transfer fees and wages because of his age etc
