    RANGERS STATEMENT ON CLUB WEBSITE
"Rangers' future remains uncertain after the Scottish Football League clubs voted against the Light Blues playing in the First Division next season.

"At a meeting at Hampden today, the 30 member clubs agreed to accept Rangers into the SFL but voted against the SFL board being allowed to broker a deal with the SPL and SFA over new structures and procedures which would also include Rangers playing in Division One.

"It is now understood that on the back of a briefing SPL chief executive Neil Doncaster and SFA counterpart Stewart Regan gave to clubs last week that the SPL will introduce a plan for SPL 2 - which would include Rangers - and invite existing Division One members to join."

Yes, for the most part their fans are doing the right things. It's the fans I feel sorry for.

But this SPL 2 crap is stupid. They should just disband the Scottish league now. Total farce from the people in charge. They don't deserve to have a league if they're going to do this.

I think they would offer more to the league. Id rather have a Premier League with big teams and big games each week than mickey mouse teams. Just my opinion
So, just because a lot of people go to watch their games, you think they should have more right than the likes of Wigan to play in the EPL?

You seem to forget something. We had the lowest averaging gate in the division this season. Are you suggesting QPR make way for Rangers so the EPL can have bigger games each week? Clubs like us and Wigan have earned the right to play in the top division. Big clubs like Leeds and Birmingham haven't, yet you're suggesting a team from a foreign country, with its own national team, FA, stadium, and league should be parachuted into English football because you prefer big games?

You obviously don't remember the England v Scotland matches in the 70s, or the trouble in Euro 96.
Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

agree if they wanted Rangers just one div away from the spl then what the hell have these last couple of months be in aid of? Be like the gov calling an election and then saying we don't like the result can we do it again until we get what we want

Mate did you actually read what I was agreeing with?

If you read what I was saying, it was that if they were invited to join, and voted into the non league and worked their way up.

Slightly different to what your implying. But anyway once again its just my opinion. I personaly think Rangers v teams like Manure, city, arsenal, spuds, chelsea or L'pool would be more entertaining to watch that those games v Wigan infront of half empty stadiums playing hoof ball. Some might disagree, but thats just me, and I do remember Euro 96 v the jocks, i remember it quite well, but why should that have any impact on a decision like this?

Co-sign me for this. Seen a lot of people slagging off Wigan for not filling their stadium. But it's what happens on the football pitch that counts. It'd be like all of a sudden getting rid of certain teams to make way for Nottingham Forest and Leeds .They're bigger than Rangers historically, so why not give them preferential treatment to?

Well, we will have to agree to disagree, but I do not think there is a place for Scottish football clubs in English football. If they have their problems, that's for them to deal with, not us. Scotland has self-government and its citizens are given 24% extra in government spending. Its banks, HBOS and RBS, cost us billions. The further away from the Scots we are, the better.

You say 'Rangers v teams like Manure, city, arsenal, spuds, chelsea or L'pool would be more entertaining to watch' have you seen any Scottish football? It's dire.

I cant believe all the clubs voting them out, them and Celtic are Scottish football, and the rest rely on them to produce revenue for there own clubs in media interest and gate revenue, think they have just finally killed the game up north.

I'm pleased that they have to start at the bottom. Not pleased for their fans though, who in the main appear to accept that the punishment is deserved, albeit through no fault of theirs.

Just a pity that he who talks in Riddles, couldn't manage to come to the correct conclusion elsewhere.

Scottish football has at least made it clear that rules apply to every team, not just who they want them to, like our FA.
