Just asked @steviebateman on twitter if any more news. He said not yet but hasn't heard of any problems though (whatever that means).

      Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
      And many more mistakes

LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO

It´s still imperative to strenghten the squad. The midfield as well. It´s a pity, but only natural and typical that another club have hijacked a move(?) in the 12th. hour.

@steviebateman now saying Newcastle had an interest but QPR far more likely destination.

If we can beat off competition from a club like Newcastle, it will put this signing on a par with Park in terms of showing ambition and intent imo

And it also shows us how important the Park and Green signings were!:pleasantsuprise: It seems like we really have crossed a bridge now..

Latest from Stevie: Hoillet likely to cost £5 Mill in compo + wages of £50k pw. NUFC not willing to match that.

well that would be cheaper than if he was not out of contract

Would be a good signing but to me its not the be all and end all if he ####ed off somewhere else. He would be a bonus signing where as a CB is a necessity imo.

For ‪#QPR‬ fans: Hoillett is likely to cost up to £5 million in compo, plus wages of £50k per week. ‪#NUFC‬ not prepared to pay that. ‪#BRFC‬

£5Mill for a 22 year old of his ability is a snip.
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

If hoilett comes in on 50k pw then i don't think it will be long before Taarabt signs a new deal for a similar wage.
