Although i agree, in relation to a transfer fee in the market it would be, but i do find it a massive fee for a tribunal when he's out of contract. Don't former clubs normally get shafted with tribunals...?? alternatively, i'd be surprised if this was an agreed fee between the clubs, unless it's a deal "worth" £5m, in other words we'll give you £2.5m and also a couple of players who are surplus for us, but will do a great job for you in the championship.

Im sure I read somewhere its due to his age, I think they brought some rules in recently regards clubs getting a nice bit of comp when they lose a youngster on a "free transfer" (not sure if anybody can elaborate?). I agree though, £5mill is a big bit of compo! I just think about it as, regardless of whether its classed as "compo" or "transfer fee", £5mill in exchange for Hoillett is superb business. Fingers crossed on this 1 still.

think if this Happens Mackie will be on his way? with hoillet park Taarabt, he may not with lots of wide players of this quality his chances may be limited?

Taarabt is not a winger for a start. We'd have Hoilett, Park, Mackie, SWP and Smith as our wide players, plus Traore who can play anywhere on the left. Tommy will be on his way this summer leaving 4 wingers.

On a sidenote, and in response to Dave58´s post; Is Mackie more important than the club? I would say no, but that´s just my take at it.

if/when Hoilett comes we have plenty of options. But i don't complain beacause it's nice to have strong bench as well. Remember the squad vs Wigan away last season? Agyemang and Perone were staring 11 and Ephraim and etc came off the bench.
