I went to the MK Dons away game and thought that kind of stadium would be ideal for us. I was down towards the Dons end and they sounded very loud, even though it's still not a completely built stadium.
never went so can't comment ,but that must be the only new stadium like that ,every one i 've been to have been dreadful .

If he stays fit will be a very good signing.

Both Nelsen and AJ strike me primarily as signings with a strong view towards establishing a professional competitive mentality around the club rather than simply in terms of what they offer on the pitch, ie it's not necessarily about AJ scoring a hatful or Nelsen keeping a watertight defence single-handedly but the effect they'll have on the XI chosen on the day.

City coming back to win that last day of the season might have been fun for everyone else but you can bet it stuck right in Sparky's throat. Today's transfers are to ensure it never happens again.
          Good post ,

          Sounds common sense to me

may get shot down but aint they both a bit long in the tooth? i suppose they are ok for a very short term fix but surely youth is where our future lays!

Define youth in the PL because it ain't 18/19 more like 21-24

Is AJ, at 31, long in the tooth?

Would rather a 31 year old experienced Premiership proven 'long in the tooth' player to an unproven youth player who wouldn't be up to the rigours of the premier league.

Everyone was banging on about Charlie Austin being the next big thing, he's hardly pulling up trees, same for Le Fondre & expect will be the same for Jordan Rhodes.

Premiership is a different kettle of fish.

Need players like Hoillet signing. Not just gonna be good for the next couple of years but for many years to come. Maybe they will be more expensive in the short term but it will stop us having to have a large player turnover every couple of years.

We must have one of the oldest squads as it is already?

I'm afraid I agree with you Deadend.Whilst,as the OP said at the beginning of this thread,AJ has averaged one goal every three games during his career,he only scored 13 in 86 (one every 6.6 games) for Fulham. That's worse than Zamora's record at Fulham of 20 in 91 and he (Zamora) has only scored 2 in 14 for us.Both players are 31 and I can't help thinking that we've taken Fulham's cast-offs,even though they were acknowledged as being grafters by the Fulham supporters. The highlight of AJ's career was his hat-trick against us last season, but regretfully he appears to spend most of his time on the bench or worse still,in the treatment room.I really hope they both prove me wrong next season as,like all of us,I just want the R's to do well, but as far as these two are concerned,I won't be holding my breath.

People are expecting the best in the world but we are a work in progress plus we only generate cash from 18,000 gates so must remain realistic.

Front pair are likely to be Cisse & Zamora so having someone like AJ come off the bench fills me with a lot more hope than Betty or even Helguson now bless him at his age

Get behind him & I reckon we'll have a decent player on our books.

Think you need to recheck those stats mate...?

More like 3 a season if i remember correctly....? Just a thought !

Made me laugh how they touted that "one in three games" statistic on the official.
