To be honest, I don't think it took a genius to work out that Hughes took the job on the basis that he was going to have a large sum to spend if needed.

This whole transfer window should be revamped, it simply should be the day the season finishes to the first day of the following season. Then you can loan through the season if the need arises, such as injuries, but off course it wont happen because sky love this window because of all the panic buying it induces. All this does is push up prices for clubs that are desperate, namely ours!
