Clutching at straws?
It's easy to make comparisons with players that have made an impression but I fear that rather desperate and tenuous positives are being eked out here....Originally posted by Westbyfleetr View PostDevil's advocate here. Look at it this way, he's been at man utd for a number of years, they see him every day in training, he's been used a number of times but only a game here or there with Rooney, Wellbeck, Berbatov and Hernandez ahead of him, and if they didn't think he was any good, if he there were better back ups, if he didn;t have thr right attitude, or would develop into a potential star he'd have been sold or released by now - Fergie is hardly a man known for sentiment.
At man city and chelsea Struddige scored 1 or 2 goals in three seasons with fleeting sub appearances and the occasional start. Went to Bolton, got a run of games, sharpness and confidence up and returned to Chelsea to become their number one striker, can't stop scoring, and a sure bet for the England team
Hope am wrong and he proves a world beater....

I did say Devil's advocate. In fairness to the lad macheda he ran expectations high by going and scoring goals that changed the course of a championship when he was only 17. At 21 he;s till the same age as Cleverley who only managed to get into the side this season and because Scholes retired and Fergie couldn't sign Sneijer. It's very much a case of wait and see but certainly lets not write the guy off.

I know but....
It's just such an uninspiring signing and almost as if it's because he's a Manure player he must be worth a punt.... I don't want to write the guy off but.. well... am not expecting much so here's hoping...!!Originally posted by Westbyfleetr View PostI did say Devil's advocate. Would be nice to have another option, he is something abit different to what we have.Last edited by Warnock's Shorts; 01-01-2012, 07:24 PM.

Agreed, and I can see him slotting into the Adel Taarabt role while he's away with Morroco.Originally posted by jimmyrs87 View PostWould be nice to have another option, he is something abit different to what we have.
I may get shouted down for that but it's just what I thinkUnder Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
And many more mistakes
LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO
