Its really sad I know, but I don't take it seriously, I'm just showing how selective (Pathetic) Jeffro is.

If he read the thread, I said nothing about Adel apart from him needing to grow some balls and man up, but hey ho

The likes of Tommy Smith, Bradley Orr, Clint Hill and Matt Connolly have gone from regulars to squad players because the bar has been raised. By the same token, Taarabt could not have expected to keep the captaincy. He sulks, he doesn't train properly and he behaves like a child a lot of the time. You just can't have that at this level, a captain should be somebody the squad looks up to.

I am extremely grateful for what Taarabt did last season but at the moment he is his own worst enemy. He sulked all summer then came back overweight. He's been given every opportunity to regain his fitness and form but he just doesn't look bothered.

The fact is he has the prefect opportunity either to knuckle down and do well for QPR, or put himself in the shop window but he's doing neither.

To point the finger at Warnock is way off the mark. Warnock did a great job of managing him last season but there comes a point when you need to just say, you're a professional footballer, now step up to the mark.

For me we should leave him on the bench for a few games. If he responds well then fine, if not, ta ta in January!

People are getting a hard on about Taarabt but I don't care what anyone says he's our best player & he isn't being managed properly imo.

He's gone from captain to not captain

Set piece taker to taking nothing

Penalty taker to no penalty taking

All NW cares about is Joey Barton. I'm not surprised Adel's performances have dropped in standard I feel sorry for the fella. Yes he is a sulky annoying pain in the #### brat but he's amazing on his day & I feel taking him off every single game is bad management. He was slated for hogging the ball & now he's more of a 'team' player he's highly ineffective. I was praying he'd be more selfish yesterday & the last few games. The things he can do will bamboozle the very best why harness that natural skill?

Barton imo should be in the middle with Faurlin, Puncheon or Smith one wing SWP the other with Taarabt in the hole. The way & formation we are playing I'm not expecting many wins. Derry for me as much as I love him is not up to playing every single week. Decent against Chelsea one week & non existent the next.

We have done ok so far but how much better could we do if Adel was given a bit more of a free role like last year? I know people will say in the Premiership you will get punished if the ball is lost which is fair enough but we will also do much better if Taarabt was firing again.

Who knows but I'm getting annoyed seeing him sacrificed every week when others have been equally shite.
Totally agree on the formation front Ric; I think that playing a midfield and forward line of:

                SWP Barton Faurlin Smith
                Adel
                Bothroyd

Could work really well. Although I think Adel may need to be benched and sued as an impact sub for a game or 2.

With regards Adel, can certainly see where youre coming from, but I personally have to say I am abit fed up of his attitude and the fact he seems to be needing a cuddle to get firing again, he needs abit of fight in him to go out and show what he can do off his own back, not require molly coddling. Cant disagree with you saying hes the most talented played we have though. Shame to see the ability not being put to its full potential, fingers crossed he can pick up his game sometime soon.

Starting with a 30yard winner vs City Saturday after coming off the bench?

I think it would help him and us. Deep down, he must be frustrated, and realise that he hasn't really shown himself this season, he's not stupid.
But I would never write him off, he's too talented.

Trouible is matty, if AT goes in the hole, then we're back to one forward again. The ideal situation would be CM as a playmaker alongside Barton. I think he's the only player that can produce killer through balls, and that he would be too far up the pitch to be effective doing that as part of the 4411.

But that's where the logic all breaks down, because he doesn't appear able to backtrack and get stuck in, unless that's NW's orders.

Hmm you raise valid points here tbf! Is a tricky 1 because, as most of us agree, Adel can produce moments of magic and some sublime passes that nobody else in our side can.

Shame DJ is injured or we could have him up top with Bothroyd then have Adel as a playmaking midfielder.

At the moment, it appears that if you take away AT, all the problems seem to go away, like they did in the 2nd half on Sunday.

True. Which begs the question, do you make players fit the system, or the system fit the players? We seem to be in our usual dilemna, of having players in their wrong positions again.

This has been England's problem all my Adult life, where they play 'names' instead of the best player for the position at the time of the game.

Badly managed, no. Its the managers job to choose the style, system and formation forhow the team play, and up to the individual players to adapt to the system or not. Its the managers neck on the line with the results.

Biggest problem with Adel is something that no-one else has mentioned. When opposing managers look at the QPR team sheet (sent by Ric-Roc for £50), they identify the 'danger man' or flair player in the team, and guess who they come up with. They then choose to man-mark or clatter this player to nullify the danger, and in every game this year I've seen exactly this happening. So he's not being given the chance to show what he can do, he's getting frustrated and stroppy, plus it's the reason why he is being subbed as Neil can see a possible injury happening at any point, which frustrates him even more.

He need to learn that he can't have the time on the ball he wants in this division, and adapt his game to fit the team system. If he can't, then he's not good enough and needs to move on.
