In that case Barton should of been dropped 6 games ago.

Derry I will expect to be dropped Saturday then also on that performance.

People are getting a hard on about Taarabt but I don't care what anyone says he's our best player & he isn't being managed properly imo.

He's gone from captain to not captain

Set piece taker to taking nothing

Penalty taker to no penalty taking

All NW cares about is Joey Barton. I'm not surprised Adel's performances have dropped in standard I feel sorry for the fella. Yes he is a sulky annoying pain in the #### brat but he's amazing on his day & I feel taking him off every single game is bad management. He was slated for hogging the ball & now he's more of a 'team' player he's highly ineffective. I was praying he'd be more selfish yesterday & the last few games. The things he can do will bamboozle the very best why harness that natural skill?

Barton imo should be in the middle with Faurlin, Puncheon or Smith one wing SWP the other with Taarabt in the hole. The way & formation we are playing I'm not expecting many wins. Derry for me as much as I love him is not up to playing every single week. Decent against Chelsea one week & non existent the next.

We have done ok so far but how much better could we do if Adel was given a bit more of a free role like last year? I know people will say in the Premiership you will get punished if the ball is lost which is fair enough but we will also do much better if Taarabt was firing again.

Who knows but I'm getting annoyed seeing him sacrificed every week when others have been equally shite.
You weren't the guy in the upper tier shouting "I wish he'd just hog the bloody thing and not pass it like last season!!" ??

I'm a massive fan of Adel but he should definitely be dropped for Man City game.

        Erm yea?

Think I've missed your point there.

        Robbo I agree 100%.

As we all know paul has been tugging himself furiously at the thought of AT having a slow start to the season but most of us with a half decent knowledge of the game appreciate what he can bring if managed properly & I personally think he was managed bang on last season but now Joey is Warnocks new head boy Adel is the big bad wolf.

No not me but again I agree with whoever was shouting it. He's dangerous on the ball not giving 3 yard passes out.

The point is you said "Yet again Paul posting tripe. Who has said he should be taking pens, free kicks etc? Not one person from what I've seen. Think you need to re read the OP."

I'd be more interested to hear peoples views on why Barton has never been subbed once despite massively under performing. Or how about Derry on occasions, or Hall or Faurlin who hasn't been amazing.

Not a dig at our lads more making the point many of the team have under performed yet seem to play 90 mins near on every week where as our most talented player gets hauled off weekly.

By the sound of it Paul Mason would be happier with a team of good honest corporals, like Shaun Derry, running very hard, putting in lots of tackles/ fouls, and ultimately being totally humiliated by far superior opposition. But because the players were salt of the earth types he would, presumably, be happy. I think this is a good thread and as Robson, Ric and others have said the challenge now for Warno is to get Tabs playing as all posters with any memory or appreciation for the beautiful game know he can play - Mackie, Derry etc (useful tho they are) have very clear limits but Tabs potential is virtually limitless. I know which one I wd rather work with if I were a coach (frustrating as hell tho' Tabs is on occasion).

Fully accept he was terrible y'day - but remember Blackburn? We were useless and had no flair at all without him. With the exception of the match against Chelsea Derry has been utter cack for a good month now, but nobody dares criticise "Lord Derry". Sure, drop Tabs because he isn't performing but Warno clearly doesnt like Buz and without those two I'm not sure where the creativity is going to come from to open up Premiership defences, particularly with such a weak front line as ours.

Paul paul paul. I made points on why I believe his performances have dipped.

YOU said people want him taking pens fk's etc, read your previous posts. The point is no ones asking for him to take everything just to be played how he should be played & not harnessed.

Jay bothroyd was dropped and by his performance yesterday it looks like he's busting a gut to get back in the team. And hopefully neil picks him against city. Maybe the same will happen to Adel? I think he'll sulk for a bit but then he'll come back firing.
Derry has been average for a while. Good to see warnock take him off though. People love mackie and derry because they run around a lot.

Exactly James but will we see Mackie & Derry giving an outside of the boot pass to put someone in or beat 3 players with one swivel? No we won't.

Effort only gets you so far you need to BLEND that with flair & raw skill & imo only 2 players in our squad have both Adel & Akos.

Totally agree Ric. People loved Stevie Palmer and god forbid anyone who slated him. He ran around a lot and he tried his best. But to get promoted we needed to drop him.

I really don't see why Akos never plays. The guy is class and its not as if the midfielders are all playing really well. I'd play the same team we had 2nd half but with buz for mackie against man city.

I've been a staunch supporter of NW & have defended him at all times as I believe in him. Friends of mine who are pro's have told me he can't handle big name players & I always laughed it off but now I'm starting to think they are right. Joey Barton & I like the guy but he isn't cutting the mustard for me is obviously immune to criticism & by the sound of things can say, do & play like a bird yet never gets taken off or publically lambasted like others have by Warnock.

I think NW needs to go back to basics with regards to Adel. Let him roam again let him be a bit greedy, yes we will lose the ball but I guarantee out of 10 times Adel will try & do something amazing something good will come of it at least 5 times & the way we have played lately (bar Chelsea) its 5 more chances than we have created.
