Like I said, he has a chance to put things right against a mediocre Blackburn team.

I dont care which way you spin it, when he's on 80 grand a week, club captain and the biggest siging in the clubs history, I expect more. Currently over the last 4 games he had under performed.
He is in a new team. It takes time. Wait a bit more before you target him.

He needs to step up big time... Don't give me he needs time. He was turned over by sidwell and murphy on Sunday and he is a better player then them. He's on 80 large a week cause he's a good player, even he said good players gel quickly... Seems like their ungelling to me.

3 poor games and 1 decent one. Needs to step up to the plate, it's looking like a bad move to make him captain as it stands.

Hope he turns it around, just doesn't look that interested though.

I agree moris.. Anton Ferdinand has got captain all over him. Doesn't stop talking and is a massive organiser. What can Barton organise out on the wing.

Adel did not deserve to be captain last season, but was as it was given to him for all the wrong reasons, so it looks like it is ground hog day this season with Joey.

Adel never scored the goals he did, or made the goals he made because he was captain, it was because that's what he does.

Unfair criticism. Just a knee jerk reaction. Think he's played well 2 games out of 4. You can not judge a player on 4 games. If you can you might aswell go become a professional football scout.

I think it kept adel on the pitch Paul being captain. I know jb has got talent I wouldn't suggest dropping him but I think he needs to play in the centre.

Do you actually believe he was the captain? Yes he had the band but I think someone else in the squad was spurring them on.

Very true Morris, glad to see others are seeing this.

Everyone is on Bothroyd's back for not scoring, but his actual performances, barring FUlham have been very good, his hold up play and team play exceptional.

I am on Bartons back because he is not stepping up to the plate, is being out performed by Faurlin & Derry, and that shouldnt be the case.

His type of game means he should gel pretty quick and I rarely see him driving the team on.

Spin it anyway you like but he is under performing big time, and i will have an opinion on Barton, just as I would Bothroyd and SWP etc.
He is not exempt from critisism, like some of you seem to think.

We've lost 6-0 it ain't nice but like always Rs fans have to have a boo boy.
Joey Barton imo is THE main reason Ferdinand,SWP, and Young signed.
Does it matter what a player earns, we as a club offered to pay him what ever amount it is, so perhaps we should all start tweeting Tony and tell him to stop trying to entice top players to us.It's a Team game and one player on his own can't do it all no matter what they earn.
Lets not start singling out individuals after 4 games, they were well beaten by a better team on the day.

                              Absolute drivel...
Did you even listen to the Ian Wright Interview when SWP signed??

I dont recall Wrighty saying Shaun signed because of Barton?
He signed because of 1st team football and Neil Warnock

Young signed because mainly its nearer his family in Wimbledon

Ferdinand signed because we wanted him and he's on a fair wedge.

And money does matter, 80k a week makes him the biggest player....Start playing like one!

Well I read somewhere Jeffro ,can't remember where now, that SWP and Joey were texting each other to see if they were signing.
As for the money,so you'll except someone like Bradders can have lots of bad games then because he don't earn as much?
