  • Bye Marti

    He has gone.

MARTÍ Cifuentes has left the club by mutual consent following a period of gardening leave.

The situation wasn't helping either party. This now paves the way to announce Julien Stephan's appointment tomorrow. Marti will probably join another club very soon as well.

Sad to see him go, I know he has his critics on here, but I genuinely liked him and of course wanted him to succeed. Thanks for the memories Marti.

Looking elsewhere shows a lack of commitment.

I understand the comment but every manager and every player that is ambitious is always looking at other options. The fact that our ceo and manager never really saw eye to eye meant it was never going to be a long term solution. Wish Marti the best as he did a very good job when you look at the sh1tshow he walked into!

Saw eye to eye enough to sign an extended contract that no doubt we're having to pay up in part. We've been played.

                  Agree sheep
If he's applying for jobs plural he's no better than beale disrespecting QPR.
And no one wants him back, or wish him luck

Maybe maybe not. A good agent did their job at the time. He was doing well and got client a new and improved deal which nourry was happy to give him. No one forsaw what happened at the end of the season. The club didn't have to give him a new deal if they didn't want to.

                        Too right Dave.

I hope it backfires on him, just like it did with Beale!! Nothing has changed since Marti signed his extended contract last Sept. We are still skint and looking for bargain players and developing young players. Marti thought he got what he could out of us and wanted a bigger club.

I do not wish him well and #### him!!

You do not get put on gardening leave and then elbowed out of the door if you have done a great job, well not normally anyway..
I have supported Rangers for 55 seasons, since March 1969.

Didn't end as it should have done but that is often the way. Did fantastic job first season, so so second season. Most managers would have had us relegated that first season given what he walked into. Best of luck to him.

Same with Ainsworth after Beale & Critchley, but he didn't get many kind words around these parts. Also, I think Abs said Ainsworth had a better record in his second season at the point when Marti's contract was extended. It ain't what you do it's the way that you do it.........

                              But hey......we move on.
