Why has Lee hoos released this statement anyway. He continually preaches that he does not deal with football matters including signings. Yet he is here now spinning out garbage how we will be targeting loans and that they turned down offers for player. Where is the dof grin? How come smiler has not come out and told us the situation? After all, he is getting paid good money to do it.nsa/cia spy on this..............┌∩┐(◣_◢)┌∩┐Comment

For a much needed proven championship striker, yes. Especially if we don’t have to buy at the end (but have an option), in case he flops. What we won’t do is spend 30k a week on Chris Martin even if we want him. We’ll be offering Derby half af 15k a week to loan him for the season.Comment

Hold up, that's bowlarks mate. He doesn't deal with signings, that's correct, but he does hold the wallet. And in order to make signings, loan or otherwise, we need that wallet. Why has Lee hoos released this statement anyway. Would you rather we got Phil Beard back in, sign everyone and be shafted financially? You can't have it both ways.Top Scorers 2018/2019

The frustrating part about all this is that we lost a bunch of players, brought in one, and were led to believe more would be heading our way before and after today. So much for the "before". Maybe as fans we are not supposed to question or complain, just pay for tickets and QPR+ Pass and suck it up. No one harbors illusions of promotion this season, but how 'bout management showing us a bit more than a "we're working on it" dodge.Comment

Because Lee Hoos is in charge of the finances and if you took time to read it it says about the clubs finances which include all things to do with player ins and outs and the best way to get deals. He is very shrewd and knows his business. Ferdinand would negotiate deals and talk to clubs. Does it really matter who comes out and says it.Why has Lee hoos released this statement anyway. OK.
It’s about 17m parachute this season. So by your calculations we need to sell 17m of talent. But it does not work like that, there are many other variables.
Our TV/parachute income was 35m in year 1 and 2 and half in year 3 and 4 of parachutes. At year 5, so post-parachute era, season 18/19 we still get 10m TV income even in the championship. This is often missed but is key to the numbers.
So we have a deficit of 20m to fill. It it does not mean we have to sell 20m of talent. The wages have been massively cut in line with this end-state. And in fact, this year we will be in the bottom 3 of the championship wage budget alongside Rotherham and Preston. But that will not become public knowledge till at least 18 months- 2 years from now.
So point 1. Parachute payments only apply to clubs that are relegated from the Premier league. Clubs that are relegated from the Championship who have never been in the Premier League do not receive any parachute payments if they are relegated from the Championship. Clubs that received parachute payments by virtue of them having been relegated from the Premier League continue the receive the parachute payments until their eligibility period expires, even if during that period they are relegated to Division one (hence Sunderland's eligibility).
Point 2 (which I am unclear about.). Parachute payments only last for 4 years after relegation from the Premier League. But for this year we still get £10m. as our share of renegotiated fees between Sky and the Premiership. Does this cease for the 2019/20 season and beyond? Do other Championship clubs get this payment, or is it only those who were Premiership clubs at the time or those who would have been as the contract was "back dated"?
Point 3. Because Championship games are broadcast by a number of TV channels. Do those channels pay rights that are distributed to other Championship clubs?
Point 4. If we sell high earning players, we get their wages off our costs But increase our costs by the cost of the wages of any players we may sign. As we depreciate the cost of players over the length of their contact. (So someone signing for £1m over a 5 years period costs us £200k p.a), If we sell them for £1m after 2 years, do we get a credit in our income of £400k?.
Sorry to burden you with all this, but I am trying to understand the detail of it myself, and I don't think it would harm if others knew as well. (or at least gained an inkling)Comment

Ginge, I understand that hoos holds the wallet but the grin needs to come out and explain what is going on with the transfer stratagy. After all, he is getting a shyte load of money, the least he can do, is do his job. As for the fella who says, it does not matter who comes out with the statement, I expect Doris the dinner lady will announce our first loan signing. The point I am getting at is that there is no justification for a dof job at this club, none whatsoevernsa/cia spy on this..............┌∩┐(◣_◢)┌∩┐Comment
