I know I'm in the minority on here, but I hoped Holloway would be given a bit longer, we seemed to be moving (slowly)in the right direction under him. This season he has been given almost a hatchet job regarding the offloading of surplus players. not an easy task, and he has really cleared the way for any new man to come in.

Good job offloading who? All were on their last year and were paid off.Originally posted by Darkranger View PostI know I'm in the minority on here, but I hoped Holloway would be given a bit longer, we seemed to be moving (slowly)in the right direction under him. Exactly who has he got rid of that he actually had playing regular. No one that would have made a difference if they'd have stayed. And we only really made progress once he had ditched 352. If he had kept it we could have been a lot worse than we ended up.Originally posted by Darkranger View PostI know I'm in the minority on here, but I hoped Holloway would be given a bit longer, we seemed to be moving (slowly)in the right direction under him. Can see what you are saying but would have been huge risk keeping him. Main issue was his inability to play team to it's strengths. I can understand maybe trying a new formation for say 10 games to see how it goes. However he wasted two thirds of a season on a system we clearly didn't have players for and just didn't work. Should have known in first place we didn't have players for it and to then keep it in place for so long was inexplicable. Was lucky to have been kept on after last season's embarrassing collapse almost took us down from a position of safety and, in my view, farked up his second chance. Was plain incompetent at times.Originally posted by Darkranger View PostI know I'm in the minority on here, but I hoped Holloway would be given a bit longer, we seemed to be moving (slowly)in the right direction under him. Things had improved a bit but I have to say I strongly suspect that came about as a result of someone having harsh words with him about formation, line ups and some players being selected no matter how poor they were form wise.
Great character but for me right decision. No idea how new man will do but sadly, given his long connection with the club, Ollie was not the answer.

He's a real doll, as long as you kiss his #### and agree with him and his knitting circle.Originally posted by Tarbie View Post
Really don't know the guy at all mate. Just thought it was a well written (if a bit long winded) piece.
But anyway enough of him and if you enjoyed his ramblings then good
Lets celebrate the up coming appt of the former England manager
