Ahh sorry mate, yea I do agree with this totally (although I think we can go up next season), I just hate seeing a starting spot wasted on someone who won't offer much long term when Nasser is on the bench and Petrasso is just sitting in the reserves not getting chances. Would like to see them given fair trials.

I reckon we will go up next season.I didn't reply to you alone we wont go up this season , we wont go up next season , so in my book as long as we ain't getting beat we are breaking the habit of the side Jimmy Floyd took over and moving forward as someone said he's unlikely to here next season and the squad will improve given time
Why you so certain when we are three wins away from the play offs this season and we have had three different managers and no stability whatsoever. Do you think we are going to do worse next season with one manager all season then?Comment

Good Pre season, few additions, and he's making this side better every game. I reckon we are certs for play offs and I'm going to have a little wager on automatics,Comment

No not at all Mac but you have just answered part of question yourself (no stability ) that sort of thing doesnt get repaired over night that will take the rest of season , next season we will be building a squad this season we have been building a side , imo next season we will be good championship side poss top 6I reckon we will go up next season.

Is his average score really 7 since joining us? Really surprised by that to be honest . I think jh has been absolute dog #### for 90% of his time here. It's only now that he's performing ironically as he's approaching a contract expiry. Mackie might not be everyone's cup of tea but in my opinion he can't really be judged on this season. Very much stop start with no consistency in selection and a serious injury. Obviously lacking match sharpnessAbsolutely, it'll still be better than mackies: Since 2011/12 (the first available time for Mackie's statistics), his average whoscored rating for starts only (not substitute appearances) is 6.62 including this season and 6.63 excluding this season.
Hoilett's average since joining us for starts alone is 7.00 including this season and 6.84 not including this season. Seems a fairly easy choice as to who's been better based on the stats and that's Junior.Comment

For once, I am in 100% agreement with you.Yea people will criticise me for this, probably shouldn't harangue our own players and that's something I very rarely do but in this case, I think it's necessary. What does he actually do? He attempts only 14 passes all games and only 42% of them are accurate, no accurate crosses (2 attempted only), no accurate long passes (1 attempted only), 4 dribbles attempted, none successful, 12 aerial duels attempted, only 3 won, dispossessed once, given away a foul, only 1 interception and one tackle for someone who's only real benefit is supposed to be his pressing and defensive roles. This is in 78 minutes of football. I really don't see why he is even in the squad over Petrasso and in the line up over Nasser, who both offer more than him. My only joy was that it seems JFH might have realised how ineffective he was when he took him off.
i really don't underdtand the reason for selecting him. Washington and others overlooked must have been spittibg blood at that decision.
Mackie is $hite and I can only hope that JFH has realised this now and drops hin from the matchday swuad until absolutely necessary to recall him.Comment

They weren't difficult to play against today, dogs - a weak effort from Faurlin and Chery cocking up a one on one should have been 3-0 and out of sight, even though we weren't on top form. What ever Mackie did or didn't do we would have gone up to Preston to get beat not so long ago , ok everybody is disappointed with the outcome but they are a difficult side to play against I can understand why Jimmy Floyd picked him for this game even if it was for his wholehearted nuisance value , we're making progress even if it's not all hunky dory boutique football come on fella's give the mlngebagging a restComment

Al they have moved futher up the table than we have since the last time we played them then they were real religation fodder , I would have taken a point before the the game , but your not giving us enough credit for our progress by taking them down , as I said awhile ago we would have gone up there to get beatComment

He was shite in his first spell. Hasn't improved. He's actually declined quality wise, and that's saying something.

Didn't hear people moaning when he was helping us to win the league or score the goals/create the chances to win us vital points against Liverpool and Arsenal to keep the club in the division for the first time in 15 years. If the club had used the money generated from surviving that first season properly instead of spunking it up the wall then we could have been talking about a whole new ball game. He's incredibly limited I absolute agree but sometime a team needs that tenacity and that will to win and the energy he can bring to the side. It hasn't worked out this season for whatever reason but I feel that his limitations make him an easy target. I'd rather have players like Jamie in the squad than some of the money grabbing little shits we've had to watch over the past few yearsComment

In fairness mate there were a few of us moaning and being told we were wrong same way Green was dire but people defended him but now we have better keeper those defending him have gone quietDidn't hear people moaning when he was helping us to win the league or score the goals/create the chances to win us vital points against Liverpool and Arsenal to keep the club in the division for the first time in 15 years. Mackie for me is an impact player from the bench as he adds energy. He cannot be a starterComment

Yeah I'd go with that. Didn't see him yesterday so can't comment and maybe it's a bit of nostalgia on my part. I just think it's very important for a squad, any squad for that matter to have people around them like Jamie. Like I say he's really not the most able but players that go that extra mile are sometimes worth their weight in gold. It's a long old slog this championship after all. He's done pretty well everywhere he's been at this level and reading fans were gutted he didn't sign in with them. Just think we haven't had chance to see that better side of his game purely down to injuries and other players being preferredIn fairness mate there were a few of us moaning and being told we were wrong same way Green was dire but people defended him but now we have better keeper those defending him have gone quiet
