Proper pissed about how Steve has been treated. A real Rangers man and they "couldn't find a role for him"? ########. They found a role for Ramsey and Perry Suckling already had that role! Les was a great player but he's been here 18 years less than Steve, and Steve's been forced out of the club because of him...

A little bit knee - jerk, Brisbane. Steve was employed to do a job. Any future role would have to suit both parties. Maybe Steve didn't want the role they offered? He may have other irons in the fire? I wouldn't be at all, surprised to see him playing a role in the future if his other plans don't work out. Just guessing of course!

I agree with you Shania, whilst he is a great club man, he actually has been really unsuccessful at bringing through decent youth players. Sterling was produced into the player he is today by Liverpool. Shame he couldn't stay in a different role but I would prefer we are bringing through players from the youth to play in the league than keep him in a job indefinitely that he probably isn't qualified for.

How has he been treated? Stop making assumptions. Club could have tried everything to keep him at the club in some capacity but he might want a new challenge.

He's been here 19 years and supports the club. Not enough of a reason to keep someone on if people don't find him good enough.

I have to say, he's someone that's always sort of been "there" at QPR, so it's a shame to see someone of that nature go, but if the club thinks it's right you have to back them. Especially when we don't know the full facts.

Just think that if he'd been here that long you'd think he'd want to stay longer. They brought in two more assistant coaches for God's sake, it was getting a bit crowded and it really didn't seem like he had a choice. Also, results suggest he's quite a bit better in the u21s coaching than Paul Hall.

No biggie. Exactly what Kev said!! Just apart of life really, people get moved from job to job especially in the footballing world and what with a new manager/staff. Going on what he had to say obviously leaves on good terms with all the evil people at QPR and would seem that hes been very fairly treated... bound to be a lot of LF/TF etc haters out there who'll love having a right good moan about the club, and so he it.... As for Steve, thank you and good luck to him, proper Rangers man!

As a general reply to a few posters, I was just very angry about the whole situation. Always been a big fan of Steve's, and seeing him go in such an awkward fashion was disappointing. But, if it's ultimately for the good of the club, then I'm obviously all for it. We're having a massive overhaul at the moment, and all the fans need to get behind the club, so I am wholeheartedly. I just hope this won't come back to bite us in the ####.

A quick question and by no means trying to be antagonistic but ..What is it that steve Gallen brought to the club that makes his departure so upsetting.apart from being "rangers through and Through". If it is development of the youth ..then the youth that have come through the club over the past 15 years have on the whole been shocking. Coaching? not sure that we are the best coached side in the past few years.

It is always sad to see people leave somewhere after 19 years ..but as others have pointed out this is football and for anyone to be at one club for 19 years in an achievement itself.

Good luck Steve ..thanks for everything ..sorry you couldn't work out a way of staying ...right lets move on.

Yes, not to mention (in answer to your question) winning the FL Youth Alliance Cup (2010), FL Youth Alliance League (2011, 2012), the Professional Development League Two title (2013) and the Newark International Soccer Classic (2013) with the under-18s. With the under-21s, Gallen reached the Professional Development League Two Play-Off final in 2014.
