As a relegated team who has kept most of our better players, I would say fans should quite rightly expect to be in the playoffs.

I dont care about getting promoted as the same will happen as the last two promotions, buy big, they turn out to have just come for the money and are actually terrible then we get relegated again with the same situation. Get rid of Phillip, Fer, Sandro and Austin (preferably in Jan to gain some cash at least). Then have Hall, Luongo, Gladwin, Chery as the spine of the new team. Also bring Furlong back, Mulroney can get in and around the team. Then keep up the young better value buys with the academy as well and actually wait a couple of seasons to become a team before worrying about promotion.

Good post mate. It's exciting getting promoted but I would much rather we were ready for it.

And it better players during this process of consolidation etc. will of course stay off other clubs radar. First part will happen and we'll try to do the rest but our better players will be poached by other clubs especially in 2 seasons when you're saying we'll be in a position to challenge for premiership. Is much rather we got the best possible manager and first team and got promoted. We can then do all that growing from the bottom stuff from position of the premiership.

Don't want play offs. Imagine this side anywhere near the Premier League. Christ. Mid table mediocrity will do for me this season, but with better quality football, and not the tripe we're currently being served up.

If we go up and show that we will be capable of staying there without Charlie, I'd not have an issue at all. It would be rather dangerous to go up without having proper security that we will be good enough to stay there. That means developing a style of play that goes totally against what you should see in the championship. At this point, it is looking unlikely that we will be properly ready this season. IF we get a new full back in January and get into a position where we are playing the right football, I think we could do it, but not with uncertainty over players like Perch and having to put Onuoha at full back.

Doesn't happen as much as you think. Dont know the actual stats behind it (NASSER GET ON IT!), but think you would be surprised how many dont.
