Really? Not sure how Steve Bruce would fare in midfield compared to Carlton Palmer !!!

I bet £6m for Gayle won't get you as many PL goals as £12m for Austin would....in fact I would bet Gayle would get around 10 tops....therefore about half the value of Austin.

Agree with Ninja tbh......Gayle would add the element of pace to our front line, but not sure he's as prolific as Charles

And anyway we have shown no interest in spending anything over £2mill for a player....

Think he is half decent but not sure he would drop down. Not sure why Palace want shot of him?

Surely best case scenario is that Charlie stays. That's what we're all hoping for, right? It almost seems as though some people are hoping that Charlie goes so that we have the cash to buy somebody who isn't even half as good!

              Totally agree.
Considering the goals he scored last season for a club that was relegated as well, but still finished 4th Top Prem Goalscorer.
Only 2 or 3 goals behind Costa and Kane that are rated as World Class.
Staying with us won't even affect his chances for England as I think Hodgson doesn't really rate him at all.
As long as Rooney, Sturridge, Wellbeck and Kane are fit he doesn't stand a chance no matter what he does.

Get Austin on a New Contract to reward him, and at the same time he can prove those wrong for not having faith in him.

I reckon if we kept Charlie, Fer and Phillips we could walk this League.
Keep Sandro as well, as we have stood by him as well during the last few months.

Wait until the Window closes, the Prem Sides have named there squads and pick up the best players that are left out on loan and just go for it!!

If anyone considers Kane world class then the world really and truly has gone mad. Only had one good season.

Why ain't the likes off Watford,Norwich, or Bournemouth gone in for him.. Don't make sence to me you would think they would be crying out for a player like him, plus he should be guaranteed playing every week

because he is valued at more than the club is willing to pay and some seem to want us to spend for the sake of spending as opposed to working with what we have which is arguably better.
