QPR to unveil new club crest

I'm happy that the QPR badge is the QPR badge and whether it's aesthetically pleasing or not is irrelevant to the fact that it's worn by players representing my football club. This will be the same for any new one that happens to arrive.

If you make it all about the owner that was in charge when it came in, then I'm sure all the anti-Fernandes folk will be be allowed to demand a new badge to one that doesn't represent Phoney Fernandes....

The design of the current badge has pretty much all of the elements we'd have demanded if it was put to us to choose what was important. Hoops and historical references.

It's certainly not a perfect design (the crown and the 'shinyness' were weak points for me), but neither was the one before it, and the next one will be the same.

People deciding that a QPR badge isn't a QPR badge because they didn't like the person in charge or the look of it is just pathetic IMO.

Just to clarify, I dont only dislike the current badge purely because of Flavio and my dislike of him and the way he went about changing it, but also because it looks a load of cheap tat and I just genuinely dislike the design!!!

Wow. Little bit touchy there fella.

Firstly, someone has said that in this very thread, and nobody had suggested it was you.

I never for one second said thinking that way made someone any less of a fan. Questioning our support of the club is the lowest insult anyone can make, and one that gets thrown around way too easily on here, and never , ever by me.

I don't understand the loathing of any QPR badge (or the boycotting of it), especially for something like the owner that introduced it, even less so because it's not a design we'd prefer.

But people should realise that the next badge is just as likely to be viewed as the Fernandes badge by some, especially if our situation gets very much worse, and people will boycott that for the same reasons, and demand a new one.

Hopefully a vote, or some input from fans will help appease some of that, but we will never have a badge or a kit that we all agree on, and the idea of a never-ending cycle of appeasing the next group of fans demanding something get changed is never going end well.

That thing is an eyesore, the crown, ball and angel wings totally cringeworthy.
The key point to which you alluded to is that the fans will have an input whereas before there was no consultation.
If the majority decide on an eyesore then sobeit, but that whole boutique nonsense was laughable.
Anyway there is bigger fish to fry, but I reckon there would be an increase in merchandise sold if a half decent badge was on it as I'm sure I'm not alone in my loathing of it.

Merry makes a good point there. The whole reason a lot of people stopped buying gear from the club shop was because of the badge. No doubt revenue would increase if the gear had a badge on that most agreed on.

I get that people like the badge, I know the reasons why they don't, even if I disagree. I don't get why they're boycotting, but that's just me.

Suggesting that it isn't a QPR badge however, is on a whole different level.

Current badge is the second best we have ever had imo. Think it is a very small minority not buying gear because of it.

Glad this is happening, the current badge is atrocious imo. The shininess, the crown, the generic football at the top, those silly wings on the side all make it look like a 13 year old created it. Honestly cannot think of a worse badge in the Premiership...

Just keep it simple and we're good, would be happy for any of the 3 badge before this one to be brought back.

Shocking badge IMO, an important part of the club to which there is a lot of emotion attached amongst fans.
Don't see what KUPRs issue with people disliking it or not buying merchandise because of it, people like it, good luck to them, I don't, all about opinions this game, hence why we debate it on a forum.
Maybe he was in the design team ?!?!? ;)

But at least if will have some fans input so you'd be hopeful it wouldn't end up as hideous as this one. Totally different to a man picking it who thought we were a pizza restaurant he was buying and made no attempt to engage with fans. We were the £20 mugs to him remember!!
