I think its the best way of keep hold of our key players. The likes of Austin, Fer, Phillips, Ned and Caulker will be asked to push the club for promotion. If by January we are well adrift, then we can sell. If it is going to be a TOTAL re-building issue, then GOD help us as we may end up in a dangerous situation. I hope that LF and CR want go for a total clear out!

Absolutely no chance of keeping these players, well not all of them anyway. We have to realise that next year may well be a struggle , staying in the championship may well be the aim. You cant keep all these high earners even with a new more relaxed FFP , and even with relegation clauses we will have to shed some of the top earners and those that go will be those that are wanted by other clubs. So Austin and co are almost certain to go , then we find out the extent of our fine maybe embargo and go from there. We cant keep doing the same thing year after year, what's the definition of madness? Doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results? Or something like that.Comment

Ned bossed it in the champs last time around, why should we let him go? I understand we want to let people go but not the proven champioonship ones!"When you went to the corner and saw our fans celebrating the way they were you just wanted to be part of it" - Shaun Derry after we beat the scum 1-0Comment

I agree with you nick and if we could keep Ned I would 100%. However I think he will go for a couple of reasons. If rumours are to believed there is a lot of interest in him and he's available for only a few mill. The club also will see this as a chance to get him of the wage bill as I don't think Ned is one of the players with a relegation release clause.
Secondly caulker has relegation release clause, not attracting to much interest but also Ramsey gave him his chance in football. I personally think we will keep caulker and Ned will be moved on sadly.
I do reckon though caulker could be a different player in the championship and it could actually do hi the world of good.Comment

I really want to finally see a Caulker-Ned partnership given a chance. And the Championship could/would make a perfect platform for that. Caulkers been pony for most of the season (imho not as bad as some make out though) and tbf Neds not been to fare behind him. But there are good players in these 2 and theres proof in that- for Caulker before he came here and Ned before and in his time since he's been here. For me because of the shambles of a season we've just had and the complete need of a rebuild. Next season is a fresh start, a wipe the slate clean if you like and personally Id like these 2 to a have a fair crack at it.I agree with you nick and if we could keep Ned I would 100%. If Ned really is on £60k a week then why not get rid and use some of that for an improved offer to Austin?
I like Ned but £60k a week for a Championship defender is crazy.Comment

Get rid of all of them.. total clean slate needed.
Ned, Caulker, Fer, Austin all need to be sold.
The only one i would keep would be PhillipsComment

He is on big money, yes, he played well last time we were in the champs, just saying if we can get money for him we should cut him loose.C'Mon You Supaaaa!!Comment

It's not up to the club even though they might be under contract, if a player wants to go he will and some will want to go.
Obviously every relegated team wants to keep there best players and go straight back up but it just never happens like that.Comment

Promotion should not be the aim for next season ..and i don't think it is..we will just get stuck in the vicious circle of yo yo ing up and down ..there is no way this squad would be ready for another crack at the prem in 12 month time..lets face facts this is total rebuild..they will all go ....many on here may have to brace themselves for a season of 2 of not much happening as the roots go down rather than upComment

Disagree, promotion should always be the target. You play safe for mid-table, you end up getting relegated IMO. Definitely aiming to go straight back up. Plus, I actually think there's not gonna be the complete "rebuild" some are suggesting, I reckon most of our new players will be coming from the youth teamPromotion should not be the aim for next season ..and i don't think it is..we will just get stuck in the vicious circle of yo yo ing up and down ..there is no way this squad would be ready for another crack at the prem in 12 month time..lets face facts this is total rebuild..they will all go ....many on here may have to brace themselves for a season of 2 of not much happening as the roots go down rather than upComment
